The boutiques were told that they will get another shipment of black and taupe. They were supposed to arrive the first week of November but no sight of them yet. They do have a wait list for them (I'm on it!). Also, they're being told that the bag will be re-released in Spring (which is actually January) in new colors. No official word on what the colors will be but black is supposed to be a definite. I spoke to one of the managers and she said they're really keeping them in the dark.

Oh! I have a good news I have received the email form NAP that the taupe stam is available for me throught the speacial order. The email came very early yesterday morning but I took a day off work yesterday. So I have just accepted the special order this morning. Lucky they give 48 hr. for me to respond back to them. I thought I would never get the taupe cos I had missed out when they were on sale at NAP.

I'm so so happy I hope they're not going to cancel my order. Also I know it would be the bag that other customer has been cancelled it. But I've asked for the special quality control from them. Keep my fingers crossed and hope
for the perfect one to come

Edna - may be you should try to email NAP and asked to be placed in their waiting list.

Thanks jun I hope so too. I did purchase other few handbags from them one was the paddington which was the same situation like the stam, sold out and they placed me on their waiting list.
The bag came to me in a perfect condition

edna - I hope you be the lucky one too. This could take more than a month in my case I contacted them on the 10/15/2005, requested them to put me on the list after I have just missed out to purchase it online. It take more than a month though before they emailed me yesterday and let's me know that they have one for me. But in the mean time you also can try to get from somewhere else as well.

^^ Well...there IS a taupe Stam on eBay that I saw was just posted. It's not way over retail at all. But then I thought, with all the problems that other tFS members have mentioned about their bags (doesn't close tightly, loose threads, scratches on leather), I wonder if it will be a wise decision to purchase from ebay. At least with retailers like Saks, I can return the bag if it is not up to par. Can't say the same for ebay!

...I guess I just talked myself out of it.

I think you made the right decision. I'm too nervous to purchase it from ebay at least if you purchase it from retailers or NAP you can return ot with full refund if the bag has any problem.

YAY, KLOW!! I'm so excited for you!

Okay, I got a call from the MJ store that has me on their list and they got a return. They're not open yet so I haven't been able to question them (and believe me, I will) on the conditition of the bag, but if my guy tells me it is in good shape I'm going to take it. It's black, and it's the smooth leather, which is exactly what I wanted. Of course, I should probably hold out in hopes of the new shipment and/or the re-release but I am not nearly that patient!

Edna, it will end up way over retail, almost guaranteed. I just wouldn't do it for the reasons you mentioned, PLUS, I'm too fearful of the fakes now that they've hit.
