there are three styles for men with the tradmark distressed leather and horn handle on the shoulder strap.

a small square one without a flap (about 400)
a larger one with a flap
a banana shaped one that's worn across the body

can't find pic though...

Imagine carrying that into a well established legal firm? dressed to the nines, head to toe perfection....and then that briefcase! It would get more than a few looks.

Im glad no one took offense to it :p

I'm sorry, but those bags are all extremely trendy and overall lacking in sophistication.

But welcome to TFS

here's an article from the telegraph that may be of some interest...

Look who's carrying the bags...
(Filed: 07/06/2005)

Don't laugh: at long last, men have realised how useful a handbag can be. Julia Robson reports

Quality bags for men

If there's one thing that your typical metrosexual male can't live without, it's his "manbag".

How else is he supposed to carry his ever growing supply of 21st- century gadgets, such as his PowerBook laptop, his BlackBerry 7500, Nintendo DS and iPod? A studenty rucksack just won't do, a leather briefcase is too formal. He wants something substantial, yet stylish.

Yet, this season, manbags aren't just for the likes of Jude Law and David Beckham, as British males from all walks of life are taking much more interest in these hugely practical accessories - and want to use them to carry everything from gym kit to baby-changing gear. Good quality, well-designed bags are set to be one of menswear's success stories of 2005.

Until recently, manbags fell into two categories: the satchel shape with a flap at the front and a long strap crossing the body and, more commonly, the black nylon laptop case. But more and more men are realising, as women did decades ago, that a good bag can really make an impact and transform an outfit.

"I'd be lost without my bag," says Anthony Douglas, who has a stall specialising in vintage bags at Portobello and Stoke Newington markets in London. "This is the laptop generation, and also I ride a bike, so I carry my tools and a spanner in mine. At the moment, distressed leather styles are popular, rather than the Seventies sports bags we saw a few seasons ago. Young men are keen on small, old suitcases, Gladstones, vanity cases and airline bags."

"We are getting an increasing demand for men's bags," says designer Bill Amberg. "We've sold out of our Metropolitan, a zip-top bag made of waxy bridle leather, which you can shove everything into - the more you use it, the better it looks. We've got a style called the Magazine, which has features such as loops for pens and mobiles and is made in an indestructible leather, which seems to be what men are after.

"I've also just designed a range of modern briefcases for Dunhill, aimed at men who aren't necessarily wearing a suit every day. There's a real gap in the market for bags that look good with casual clothes. Old-style briefcases don't really work any more."

"We are seeing a rise in the number of little independent bag brands offering some interesting new shapes," says Richard Gray from Harvey Nichols. "Pauric Sweeney is an Irish designer whose speciality is a bucket bag in brown distressed leather, which costs from 250. Men's bags mustn't look too new or make the wearer look as if he's trying too hard. Men are prepared to pay as much as women for bags, but they don't want one that is instantly recognisable."

Interestingly, some manbags mirror best-selling varieties of women's styles, such as the multi-pocketed "Weekender" by Balenciaga, which has sold out at Harvey Nichols. Dolce & Gabbana's huge, squishy sports bag is being given a masculine makeover, too.

The high street stores are now awash with fashion-led manbags which, this summer, come in distressed canvas with military style fastenings, and lots of pockets and fastenings. Gap, River Island and Muji have some of the best styles, starting from around 24.

Meawhile, manbags are selling so well at Mulberry, that it has even rushed its autumn/winter range into major stores. Its bestsellers, such as the Oxford doctor's bag and the soft leather Walter briefcase, are being joined by the Romilly (which features the signature details of the trendy Roxanne, with big pockets and chunky brass handles) and the Rockley (a satchel bag with two side pockets), all from 400.

hi! i pretty sure this is my first post...

anyways... i apologize for bringing up such an old topic...

but i was wondering if anyone could maybe give me some recommendations for some mens shoulder bags...

only restriction is the price would have to be under $1000... it would be even better if the price is under $700...but i cant seem to find any that i like under $1000...

design wise... i just like clean designs... nothing fancy with a bunch of pockets and strings and what not coming out of the bag...

well... if anyone could suggest some bags... it would be appreciated...

Mulberry has very nice shoulder bags... They are simple and they cost under 700. You should check their collection from their website...
