Wow, thanks for all the replies everyone!! This forum is so friendly
I'm really relieved that this bag hasn't spurred any "what were you thinking?!" comments...at least not yet!

(And now I won't have to post this bag in the, "What bag did you buy and wish you didn't go there" thread... )

I'll try to post some more pics of the bag when I actually receive it, if y'all are interested!

Thanks again all!

Kadmia... instead of having the knot at the top of the bag (which I find, reminds me of the 80's)... why not make the knot on the side of the strap (more towards the body of the bag)so that you can tuck the knot itself under the flap of the bag when you're wearing it.

I do this with a lot of my vintage evening bags that have long straps...

hope my explanation made sense.

kadmia--- i love it!! i think if it were any other color, i may not like it as much but because the color is subdued, it makes the quirkyness of the bag more sofisticated than if it were in some icky fake dye color....VERY GOOD CHOICE!!!! perfect for spring...now i want one....how much did you pay for it??

Just bought the fabulous Louis Vuitton Klara Vienna bag, it's a perfect size for me Love the quilting! I got it yesterday, and keep going out pointlessly just to use it. It was the last one at LV Royal Exchange boutique...

Luna--that's a great suggestion, thanks so much!! I totally get your description, and I will definitely try to redo the knot, unless the strap is already creased/kinked in that spot.

jun3machina--i'm glad you like the bag too! i paid GBP 160, or about 280 US dollars. This is the ebay auction in case you're interested: 6831407640. GBP 160 was actually the reserve price of the auction--I bid just slightly higher than that, and was actually surprised to have hit the reserve. Oops. But I'm pretty sure now that I'm glad I did! (I like that it's pretty unique. I'm a sucker for Balenciaga, but they sure are everywhere these days..)

anyways, after I won the bag I looked up others on ebay and other sites. Apparently this bag comes in 3 sizes (this is the largest), and in different leathers. You can find different variations of the vintage bags on ebay, and then some of the new ones on Zappos and maybe Neimans or BG. Hope that helps!

Diorella-- Congrats on your new bag! Pics! pics!

^^ Me too!!! I love the bag in Ivory. I've been recently running that bag in my head, together with my wardrobe, to see how they can work together.
