good point about the buckles! just was wondering--is that an optical illusion? how can that be the size of the large? compare pictures on runway of large vs. medium with greendrv's pictures...
I've looked and looked, and I think it may be an illution becuase the bigger one is farther back. Look at how much smaller the buckles look on the larger bag, but I'm pretty sure they are actually the same size on both.

I heard that from an SA but didn't believe it, i thought she was exagerating! I called back the next day and asked aboutthe colors from another SA, and she said she doesn't know what they are yet. I wonder if/when we'll get to see all 50? Are SA's allowed to take and fax pictures of the look book?

i haven't received my issue yet, but here's the picture and part of the story online (from harpersbazaar.com)

Fendi'S New Look
By David Vincent

"Silvia does the most beautiful bags in the world," asserts Karl Lagerfeld, referring to Fendi's accessories designer, Silvia Venturini Fendi, who now works with him on ready-to-wear and was responsible for one of spring's It bags, the B. Fendi, a buckle-laden bag that comes in over 50 guises.

"From when I was a little girl, I always admired him. Instead of playing with my friends or with my dolls, when I knew Karl was coming to the studio, I'd find a reason to go, even when I was 5. A lot of what I know today is because I was listening and watching him," says Venturini Fendi, now in her 40's, returning the compliment.

Back to Lagerfeld: "Silvia is extremely gifted. We changed our deal to work together. I insisted that she be involved in fashion too. We put the spring collection together with no effort. The look was fresh, clear, and impeccable."

And everyone from key buyers to chic celebs (Lindsay Lohan has already donned a little black dress from the runway) has sat up, taken notice- and put themselves on Fendi's wait list. The new collection is chic, original, and thoroughly modern, even more so because it was coupled with the launch of the straight-to-cult-status B. Fendi bag. The fashion cognoscenti's verdict is unequivocal: Fendi is back.

The complete article appears in the January issue of Bazaar.

silly me, i've had the magazine in the house all along. it is an AWESOME feature on fendi b bag. such beautiful pictures-- i'll try to scan it in the morning-- my husband's using the scanner computer on a call...

it's talking about how the idea behind b. fendi was to make a bag that was the opposite of the spy bag which is big and soft. they wanted a more constructed bag, but recognizably fendi without using massive logos. the collection is summarized as "graphic, well-defined neoromantic, but not postmodern."

fyi i love the color of the red patent in this article- looks slightly more blue red than in other pictures we've seen...

good point about inventory.

can i just say the white snakeskin/embroidery is SOOOOOOOOO beautiful.

it says they predict the faorite to be the straw bag with green-python trim and embroidered silhouettes of "two lovers in a window". lol, i missed that.

i told my gay s.a. that people thought the two buckles looked like pierced boobs, and he almost broke into hives and said "i have no idea what you're talking about."
