I've got this one with the ebony handle with silver YSL script/stylized logo on the handle. I love it but find I don't wear it much now that I got my pewter metallic le dix of approx. the same size cause you have to be very parsimonious bout what to put in this teeny bag. But is that silver YSL script the "crest" you all are talking about? If so, the one thing I really love about this bag is that the logo looks very art nouveau and not like a visible big old flashy look at me I'm a logo logo. I do love the horn ones, but this one is pretty comfortable on the shoulder.

Does anyone think that there may be trouble with customs at airports for the mombasa because of its horn handle?

Can't imagine having to voluntarily throw my mombasa away..ouch..

ask the boutique to wrap it to u as a gift in a box, then the customs won't open it.

are you talking about carrying it through security? I've been worried that they might view the handle as a weapon, but not as a customs issue.

here's a somewhat OT question: which do you prefer, black or brown, and large hobo size versus medium east-west shape?

No, the people at YSL give thier PETA speech all the time. The horn is naturally shed by the deer and then Boy Scouts go and pick them up and YSL buys them.

Just to let you guys know, I passed through customs easily while carrying the mombasa, so I guess the horn is not an issue.

Lilygirl, I personally prefer the large hobo size, though it is "rounder" than the east-west shape, it can hold a bit more, and I do like my bags as large as aesthetically possible.
