last pic of current ring alone. I promised my husband I'd cool it for a while(10 years or so, barring any major financial windfall..then all bets are off... heehee)

I'd eventually like an Emerald, elongated Cushion cut, or Oval around 5cts, but that's probably in the far distant future. I'll be wearing bifocals by then. LOL!

one of my dream rings (only I'd like a bit higher color...ECs show a lot of color compared to other shapes..they also faceup/appear smaller for their carat weight)

Thanks Caffeine! It's crazy because I was never into rings before engagement and marriage. Now it's almost as bad as my perfume fixation... Only not as easily fulfilled!! So, I drool over magazine adverts and photos from jewelry/diamond sites!

My husband is French, so he finds this whole American fascination with diamond eng. rings a bit bizarre. So far he's been kind about it but we've got a 2 yr old. and I'm pregnant w/our second(due in Sept) so I'm strictly on the vicarious diamond jewelry plan for now.

I do love garnets and aquamarines too..thank G-d they're not nearly as cost-prohibitive!

I know. I do think that American are very into the diamond thing, which I don't really buy :p It's all about De Beers' successful marketing, I guess.
My family actually owns a jewelry company (not in the States), but for some reason I am never into them. I think they are beautiful though. I think I will find a perfect diamond necklace and send them the style and have it made just for me how exciting!

:p Exact same thing that my husband says about DeBeers. I just adore sparkly things. Looking forward to the day the Gemesis/Apollo synthetics are available in colorless and large sizes. Now they're only doing fancy colors under 3ct. I think.

I've tried lots of different CZ imitations but haven't found one I liked yet. Then I have one pair of Moissanite stud earrings..they're okay but a bit funky-looking compared to diamonds.

A diamond necklace sounds exquisite! There's a pretty one with an oval at the Harry Winston website. I can't manage to link directly to the site tho'.

I wish I could wear necklaces but my neck is too short and or something.

I would love an antique/vintage style diamond bracelet though!

^ I'd prefer a spy decoder ring.

But here's the previous thread: http://www.thefashionspot.com/forums...ad.php?t=10349
