go-optic
Yesterday morning my glasses crumbled in my hands as I was cleaning them--one of the earpieces dropped right off :p So I had to take several hours out of the middle of my day to go replace them. I got these (Lilly Pulitzer) ...

I was wearing all black when I got them, and they are not so great with lighter colors. They make me look a bit like Rachel Maddow is my style icon What I have discovered by wearing them is that they are rather arresting--they make me look more intellectual and more intimidating, which of course I needed And they seem to scare the men at work But I've been thinking I can turn all this to my advantage, I just need another pair. The more I think about it, the more useful I think they're going to be, like a secret weapon. I'm thinking they'll be perfect for family occasions, meetings with people I don't like, etc.

I don't like branded things, but I kind of like several Tiffany frames as a possible alternative ...

i happily wore these chanel frames for about 3 years until i recently broke them. apparently, putting them in my pocket and falling asleep is not a good idea. i was heartbroken when they snapped in half. now i'm wearing temporary frames until i can save up for a nice permanent pair.

Got these today ... these are more fragile, so I'll likely wear the others to work most of the time.

That's the pair I've been using for some years:

I bought a new one a couple of months ago, a purple one, but I couldn't find a photo. I almost bought a new one yesterday, but I decided for a new pair of sunglasses instead.

lucy, I specifically avoided all the ones with crystals for that very reason!! I was afraid they'd fall out, so I feel validated now I thought about the Tiffany ones that have the single row of crystals along the side ... they are quite expensive which I was hoping translated to well made, but I ended up going with a different pair. I had to switch again after the ones I posted because the lab said they made my lenses, and something like they didn't look good optically, yadda yadda So I went with another style that has keys/tortoise pattern on the side, but couldn't find a picture of them.

I just found out that my glasses are meant for women .
Not that I care, they look great and I've never had so many compliment on wearing glasses.

unitedshades.com

They look only this blue when the light hits them, so most of the time they're much darker.

What are stylish glasses?
I needed new glasses but felt baffled when I walked into my local opticians! I have no idea what's stylish - metal, plastic, rimless, semi-rimless?

Can anyone shed some light on this? I also need petite glasses but in Specsavers the only ones they have in stock are ones that have "Bench" in large print all over the frames!

I have looked online on what frames would suit my heart shaped face and they mostly said "bottom heavy frames" - what on earth are bottom heavy frames?

I'd be really grateful for any advice on choosing glasses
