I want a big, neutral colored scarf- like a Pashmina but not necessarily as expensive. Any ideas? Think Kate Moss (wish I had a picture)

they're easy to find most anywhere... in the states, places like tjmaxx, etc sometimes carry real pashminas knocked down to $60 or $70...as well as knock offs like anne klein and perry ellis that you can sometimes find in neutral colours. most department stores will have cheaper ones as well, and you should be able to find them in neutral colours.

TJ Maxx, or Marshalls, are both good bets... and def. Filene's basement, they have designer as real good prices if you catch them at the right time.

not everyone can pull off a scarf wrapped around the head...thats what i think! even as a belt...it's gotta match your other clothes or accessories! :P

hit some thrift stores. i just got some great vintage scarves for only $1 a piece & use them as a sash/belt/cumberbund. i also raided my granny's closet & found a ton that she didn't want.

You could try making your own, by knitting or crocheting. That way you can custom make your own. I learned to crochet a long time ago, and this year, I am giving away scarves for Christmas presents. I'm taking a poll on everyone's favorite color. and i make them one.

Seeing as winter is coming i thought id revive this thread and i simply adore scarves. I've just bought a light beige wool/cashmere coat but i want to know what colours would look good with it. So far i can wear with it my classic Burberry scarf or a cream cashmere one Normally i wear a grey coat so i wear scarves in purple, pink, blue, cream, black, even green. what do you guys recommend for a pale beige (not camel)?
Forzieri has the most beautiful collection....

Suddenly, strong thread revival.

I could do with some more scarves myself, I have a green one but it's not all that great, and another one that isn't worth mentioning.
