Just purchased this vest, what do you all think? I'm not crazy about how its styled in the picture, but I think it would be really cute as a layer piece, maybe with dark jeans, and pushed up sleeves on a black or grey sweater. Worn at least a little open. I just love the fur details....yeah not everyone's thing.

And in a move showing admirable restraint I still haven't bought the studded CLs I'm lusting after. I just can't decide if I should break down and get them because I keep thinking about them or just face the reality that I wear high heels outside of work maybe 2x a month and have plenty already.

oh what the heck, here are the shoes.

I need a new cashmere v-neck sweater. I'm about to break down and just get a high end one since it seems I buy this particular item every season. So far I've run through J.Crew, Club Monoco, and Theory sweaters. I might have to go with an Italian cashmere house.

I like the purse posted, both the LV and the Mulberry, my only question would be how much does it weigh? I personally can't do a really heavy daytime bag and that bag just looks heavy to me (given Mulberry's leather). Also is the strap adjustible, like could you make it look good as a more handheld bag vs. messanger style so that it was more versitle? (Agree that the price on the LV is nuts!)

Oh forgot to say that I'm actually getting something tailored, bought an adorable top for super cheap but the sleeves were too long, now its getting fixed for more than it cost, lol. Still on the look-out for a good tailor. I'm thinking about going to my fiance's tailor, but I'd just prefer going to a woman. My dry cleaner's place has a ton of sewing machines, not sure if I should just try them/keep using them. I always hear these urban legends of finding tailors that can copy items in better fabrics, replacing lost loves (like tata's pants, lol). I just don't know of anyone who has anyone that good in real life!

this reminds me of a Christina Ricci interview I read once where she said she likes to get things from Forever 21 tailored.

Lol, how did you know it was from Forever 21? It was! I'm certainly not going to demand a high price tag for something that is made of a nice material with nice styling.

luckymag

I ordered these today, since they're not available locally ... hopefully they will fit well! I need some flats for colder weather ...

You just might not regret this if you can afford it. I inherited my great-aunt's Chloe cashmere sweater from the 70's, three generations down...still almost as good as new and absolutely gorgeous

ta-ta, what lovely shoes!! I'd love wearing them with fishnets and a classic skirt. Or maybe slouchy pants.

^ I agree, if you wear cashmere, seems like something great to invest in. Maybe Bruno Cucinelli ...

I can do a cashmere blend, but I guess maybe I'm allergic to wool ... plus it's so warm here that I try not to buy wool (except for very lightweight, like crepe) for that reason too.

Thanks, Melisande (and thanks karma givers) ... I'll have to try with fishnets. I have some really pretty kind of lace-ish patterned tights that would be great with them I think ... multiple pairs actually. The magazine suggested colored tights. I have a couple pairs ... this may tempt me to get more! I have some rose pink tights that haven't really worked yet ... maybe they will now!

Why don't you try ebay? I snapped up a baby blue 100% cashmere top by Max Mara for $16....

I think I am definitely learning some self restraint when it comes to buying things I love but are totally impractical or I would never wear. I saw an amazing jacket - it was so beautiful my heart actually started beating double speed (Yes, I am weird) - last week, tried it on and it looked really lovely, but then I realised I would never wear it and didn't even think twice about not buying it. I still think I am a long way from being able to buy only 4-5 things per season, but baby steps!

I haven't been shopping in so long which is great except for a large cashmere shawl which seems to add a new dimension.

^ Good for both of you!

I'm planning for these shoes to be my last item for fall. I really needed them ... my issue is that I live in a primarily warm climate, so for most of the year I wear my ballet flats with bare feet. Even with tights, with the cold weather my feet are smaller and won't stay in the shoes. So these are meant to be my flats for the season ... I haven't come across anything else that isn't working yet ... we'll see.

So now I found this one by Mulberry which comes close to the LV one, but isn't perfect:

do you think I should go for the Mulberry one?
or do you know another bag that looks similar to the LV?

laurette- I find the Want Les Essentiels De La Vie bags have a similar look:
