stilleto, I was browsing style diary and came across this one lady who's style I thought youd love. She dresses just like what I imagine you dress

I do dress a little more casually than this woman- but I love many of her looks and ALL of her shoes!

thanks Guessgirl

laurette - go out and buy a beatiful silk scarf. it will look as gorgeous tied in front, as it will behind!!!

that really is a good idea, I was so angry at myself and disappointed that I couldn't think of anything else but "Why do I have to loose everything?" (+ "Why does everyone steal my stuff?" )

ontopic: How do you dress in when it is so hot? Yesterday were 28°C and I wore a dress but as I only have 3 I cannot wear them all summer, that'd be gross
I like my black skirt but it looks weird without black tights so I'm kind of in a delimma and get back to wearing polos and denim minis

instead of black tights with your black skirt, try light pink or blush-colored fishnets.

a khaki skirt with a knee length and A-line is a nice alternative.

like this one from banana republic

any of your basic tops would go with it, and for shoes flat sandals, low heels or wedges would all work

anotehr idea for your trench is to simply put in a leather belt the same color as your shoes or bag. it's a nice way to customise and pull toether your look

^they look terrible on me, I'm half-asian and they don't suit me at all. btw, how is your project going on? do you already have trouble finding combinations?
edit: I was referring to HiHeel

stiletto, the belt is a good idea too. I must have been blind not to come across this idea

in the fall, a natural brown leather belt is great with a trench if you're going to primarily wear it closed. but in the spring/summer, a silk scarf is perfect and looks so beautiful even if you want to wear the trench open - then you just tie the scarf into a bow in the back, which pulls the trench just slightly open and creates some flair. love that!!!

i also love short pants (wide leg, with trouser details, so i don't consider them capris).
the project is really fun, thanks for asking. no way, far from having any trouble. i think it will go for sure through may.

Another question (oh yeah, I'm full of questions today ):
do you think a denim mini can be styled chic? (maybe I should post this in the French style thread )

of course. do you mean with a top or with leggings or what?
it goes with a sweater, a t, a shirt, a tank, everything. it's a very basic piece.

I hear a lot of people here hating them, but personally I don't think they're that bad if you have the legs for them. (and you do!) As long as they aren't paired with heels (or footless tights )

Laurette, As half euro/half pacific asian myself, I love the look on other people but having a somewhat "exotic" appearance I could never pull them off myself. I didn't figure that one out for YEARS and YEARS!

I wasted so much money and felt so uncomfortable ...thinking it was something wrong with me as opposed to the clothes simply not being right (on me) It's probably why I'm now drawn to the seemingly effortless looking French style so it worked out in the end right? Kudos to you for catching that, I must be a sloooow learner
