purdles - you can be totally creative with it. one way might be literal:
generous - your closet is overflowing.
creative - very unique pieces.
enthusiastic - hmmm, maybe colorful and optimistic clothes (not a lot of black maybe)
broad-minded - gender-bending styles.
faithful - almost all from the same label.
dogmatic - maybe you adhere to a color scheme, or only buy a certain fit because it matches body type or something.
patronizing - lol, okay, here i'm at a loss...

i don't think anyone's closet could be all aspects of their sign, but if there is any correlation... i thought it would be a fun exercise.
thanks so much for coming and visiting!!!

^ If someone would like to start a thread about astrology and fashion (in Heart and Soul?) and link to it here, this Leo will post to it

hhahaha! that sounds like a greta thread. strangely enough, im a cancer...i've always been fond of earthtones, couldn't stand brights, and have NEVER embraced red into my wardrobe, ever. that's why i suppose its so refreshing and a lil out of my shell, so to speak.

First of all, thank you very much. I think I understand now.
Secondly, that was creeeeepy Except for my closet overflowing that is a bit too true for comfort.

cancer:
emotional* yes, i hold on to clothes with sentimental value, even though i may never wear them again
intuitive* i dont know if this applies to clothes or not, but I'm pretty good at reading people
shrewd *love a deal and love shopping at thrift stores
cautious* very much so in trying new things outside my comfort zone (especially colors)
and cautious of big ticket items
moody* yep!
clinging and unable to let go* once again the emotional ties...and then if it's a pair of jeans or a sweater i love, you'll have to pry it from me to make me part with it...hahaha

I think a topic about colours/fashion in combination with astrology and feng-shui would be very interesting .

I'm a fire sign, in both western and eastern astrology but i really don't like colours that are too warm. I mostly wear green/grey/blue. Sometimes a bit of yellow, but never things like red and orange (i do have one red scarve that i wear all the time though ).

ohh... that makes sense.
i knew you had pared down, but that did seem very 'edited'!
i am always very impressed by people who have a very pared-down wardrobe...
i imagine it being very easy to get dressed!

but actually, for me, i think i wear more of my clothes now that i've added things to fill in the gaps.
so, paradoxically, i've found i had to do some very focused shopping in order to be able to pare down more. now that i have more of what i really need, i can let go of more of the 'in between' things.

one day, i will open my closet door and love everything in there!

anytime!
yeah, i thought it would be fun on my blog. when i was doing a little research for it, some of the stuff was totally creepy, style aside. just the personality stuff, and i've never followed astrology or anything.

but i should add that fashionista-ta started a thread on this now.

yes, sometimes those bridge pieces are required to make unworn items more useful.
it is much easier to get dressed, the less i have, but i am afraid that after the big clear out, i started accumulating again. but as i said, i think i'm done now. just a pair of cords, maybe. otherwise, really done - and i'll just slowly put the pics up on my site once a week, but i must stop shopping.

it's a total learning process. you know, in the past i have been all in favor of not designating seasons, keeping it all out and seeing it all at once. i even said so once on my other blog. i changed my mind about that last night. keeping my summer stuff out during the colder months just wastes my time in the morning - i start considering whether i want to wear a summer top layered over a warmer top, or under a cardigan. if i separate my stuff and pack up the lighter things, it greatly shrinks my wardrobe, giving me the simplicity i really want. i think i'm going to get more specific on my blog and in my closet, actually breaking it down to 4 seasons and thereby even further reducing my choices. it's the only way i can think of to pare down without throwing out (again).

Just dropped by to say I updated my inspiration board (for spring now) last night ... it is now all Lanvin and lantern sleeves ... I think I see where this is headed ...

I also discarded a couple of old sweaters that represented my style from awhile ago now But I must say I didn't get any charge out of it at all. What led up to this was ... I was putting on my makeup & got to thinking about the discussion here about getting rid of something instead of buying something new. And I thought, well, maybe that doesn't apply to me because everything in my closet is beautiful, useful, or both ... and then I remembered those two sweaters So I grabbed them out of the closet & tossed them on the Goodwill pile ... but ... nothing. Nada. Not like getting something new at all, I am sorry to report

I do enjoy clearing clutter in other areas of my life ... perhaps this isn't doing anything for me because this area is already uncluttered?

I'd love to see this inspiration board!

I'm a cluttered person, little scraps of paper with ideas, fashion pictures, poems, books to read, investment ideas... I've been working on organizing and cutting back.

I also don't get much out of throwing things out or donating them. Its hard for me, if the items isn't used much I feel wasteful and if it is I feel sad, esp. if it was a favorite. Still I feel better later when everything is more wearable/accessible. Maybe you're already so uncluttered that you won't get a big relief because you don't have any more big cleanouts. I can't tell you how many things I still have to Ebay or donate that I never wear or wear 1x a year - I'm thinking that sometimes isn't enough.

i love inspiration boards, they're such a great way to figure yourself out style-wise, but only if you know how to piece it all together. one of my friends in h.s. used to dog ear pages in a magazine of looks she liked, but she told me she couldn't afford all of those looks because they were way too different and she thought she'd dog eared an entire wardrobe, but when we went over them together i had to point out all the recurring things, like certain necklines or skirt lengths or jean cuts she was gravitating toward without realizing it because all the styling "themes" in the ads/editorials were so different.
