^ I have kept a Look Book for years and years. I have one for clothes, one for hair/makeup, and another for home decor. Anyway, the one for clothes really helps me when I get bored of my closet because it gives me ideas for how to put different pieces together to create new looks. I highly recommend it!

Is the Look Book some sort of digital photo album or is it a physicial book?

^ Mine is a physical book. It is a three ring binder with a clear cover with a sleeve, so I stuck some of my favorite picks on the front and back covers. In the inside, I have clear plastic sleeves, so I can see all of the pictures and can easily add or get rid of some as I please. My sister always gives me her old tabloids, so I rip out celebrity pics from those and also take pics from my fashion magazines and sometimes catalogs like Neiman Marcus.

If I get a chance later, I will take a pic.

I am super happy, i went away for Christmas and came across sales with four very important items that were missing from my wardrobe:

-short silver/grey silk chiffon dress, for going out in
-black and colored short floral sun dress
-a light weight trench in purple, perfect for autumn/spring
-a cropped tuxedo/tails black coat without the tails.

These were all on my list so its great.

One shop though had 50% off everything including some jeans i've been eying off for ages which are $300. BUT i tried them on and they looked awful, so thinking of this thread and how its a waste to not buy what suits i decided against them. Im sad they didn't look good on me but at least i can get them off my list.

Everything i bought i know i'll probably have in 10 years time they are so perfect!

^ It's true, sometimes you want something for awhile & it just doesn't work ... I view this as a bonus, it frees up the $$$ I'd earmarked for something else

I made up my *I really need* lists yesterday and will try so hard not to mix it with *think that I really need* items

Here it goes:
-. black wool trousers
-. two long-sleeves black tops
-. black pumps

Not sure whether it's *need* or *want*, but I think about buying a HUGE daily bag for work. Mine are all medium now.
Thinking about Tod's D-bag, but still undecided between tan or red. My clothes are mainly black, white, a bit of grey, blue and red. I think red would be too intense when am using my red clothes, but I dislike tan shoes. What would y'all think?

I have a tan bag which i use no matter the colour of the shoes.

I bought a pair of shorts today on sale as well. One pair of shoes and another of shorts and my summer list is completed!!!

I would just go for the red

I do. I'm onto my third book now...the problem is finding time to sort through the clippings, see which ones work together, and paste them in (I have a massive box of clippings). It's fun though and does work well as far as marshaling your thoughts into some kind of coherent pattern.

Thanks for posting Hebden!

Does anyone take photos of their actual clothes and shoes and try to create outfits on paper before trying it? I was thinking about doing something like that, but it would take a lot of work.
