Such a cute little hat, Betinapple!!

I uploaded my favorite pieces to pinterest, I mean the ones in my closet. They pics are bad - I used my IPhone to be quicker - but I think it gives you an idea of what's in my wardrobe. So... I think I'll order that denim jacket tomorrow, the Acne one. Any more opinions to give?! :p

when you're sure, it's time to go for it! hope the piece works for you. there are plenty to choose from, so i know you'll be able to get one

and thanks i think i got confused because it feels like wearing a knit, it's so comfortable i do think it's better than the one i kinda regretted passing up a few years ago. btw, there is also stitching at the bottom that i assume if reached, would prevent any additional fraying of the raw edge.

betina, like the hat ... if you're sure you'll love wearing it, seems like a bag-type investment to me. you'd just have to protect the wool from anything that might want to nibble.

btw, i pinned a bunch more breton tops to my recommendations board. and a really cute sweater ...

@Ta-ta: I think you are right! I have plenty of time to consider it since I will not buy it before fall if I get it. Do not think it is the kind of thing you'll get a lot of use of during the summer season Will have to check your board out right away.

RedandNavy: You mentioned before something about being worried about the amount of "crazy" color (versus neutral basics) in your wardrobe, but I do think there is a lot of harmony between the colors in your wardrobe I think that is the whole point of having basics in neutral colors - that they will harmonize with each other easily. Usually people choose colors like black and white, grays or tans, but I think it is perfectly possible to have the same harmony with more unusual colors. The colors in your wardrobe are slightly subdued, and, like more common neutrals, they probably won't overpower you Basically, you just have more colorful "neutrals" in your wardrobe. I hope that made sense

Also, I love your silk polka-dot blouse

Betinapple: I love "flapper" style hats <3 I wish I could still wear them. I have one, but I haven't worn it in years, because my hair has gotten too long. I get a very bad case of "hat-hair". Flat on top and huge puffy curls below the ears.... I think they look very good with straight hair cut in a bob (?), like yours

^ congratulations i really like the watercolor-like prints.

i didn't have much luck today ... tried on the miu miu sandals i pinned, & they are truly uncomfortable. much more upsetting though ... tried to go by barney's to look at dries, and it is shuttered i guess i shouldn't be surprised--the inventory has been so tight for years now that it was really difficult to buy anything there. i noticed i hadn't gotten any e-mails lately & wondered why ... i really am so sad

@Eizhowa: Me too! My hairstyle ATM is sort of like a bob but I think I'll let my hair grow. It is just too difficult handling with this haristyle since I have to straigthen it or put it in a ponytail. I would wear flapper hats with long hair too though. Maybe a volumespray could do the trick?

@Carolina: Gorgeous tee!

I have been eyeing a tan bag for a looong time and was considering buying it if I got a tax refund. I didn't.

I'll wait and see if it gets reduced furtherly. I can easily afford it at the current price but it has been marked down for ages so I figure it could get cheaper.

^ you are a better woman than i am

a personal shopper at nordstrom told me she could get things in in labels not carried locally for me to try on, so i'm planning to take her up on that as they have one of my wishlist items. looking to see if there's anything else ...

Who me?! I just hate paying more than I have to.

What item is it that they might be able to get? Nice service!

Hi guys! I'm baaaaaack. :lol:

We are heading into Autumn now (despite the weather still hanging around the 40 degree celcius mark) so I am starting to think forward as to where I want to go with my wardrobe this season. I have quite a firm idea about what my personal style is now, so I will be sticking to that and finding pieces that I know will work with me, with my wardrobe and choosing items that will stand the test of time.

Here is a general idea of what I am thinking for Autumn/Winter 2010 -

Tops
** sheer black / print / floral blouses (will look to buy 2 new blouses this season)
* black cashmere v-neck sweater
** black cashmere cardigan (x2)
* black studded silk tank
black silk/jersey tee
elizabeth and james black satin blouse

Bottoms
** black pencil skirts (will need to purchase 2 new skirts for work)
black cigarette style pants
** dark denim jeans (will need 1-2 new pairs)

Dresses
* asos dark purple/floral print dress [ordered]
basque dark green/black peacock print dress
black/grey polka dot print babydoll dress
ann taylor black dress w. rosette shoulders

Outerwear
* black long length blazer
* black leather jacket
black tie-waist trench

Accessories
* cashmere tube scarf
house of harlow peacock ring
* oversized ray ban wayfarers
* oversized black leather handbag
3.1 phillip lim black patent clutch
vintage peacock clutch
* oversized black leather clutch
mimco black embellished hair piece
diamond stud earrings
tiffany & co initial necklace
* black pearl earrings

Shoes
* lanvin black leather ballet flats
country road black leather ballet flats
black patent ankle boots
wittner flat black leather boots
wittner black patent pointed flats
chanel burgundy round toe heels

All of the items I need to find/purchase are *'d. I will also need to stock up on black opaque tights, and some layering pieces (plain black tanks, and longsleeve tees usually from Witchery)

hahaha, oh my... where do people get the idea that this is a good strategy to get people to buy stuff? even costumers who are super sensitive to being trendy don't like to be bullied into it, I would think... I wonder if it's their own ideas, or (more likely I think) if they're being told to sell as aggressively as possible...
I was in Amsterdam last week, and treated myself to some summer coat hunting. I found a really nice one at Filippa K, a sort of pared down trench coat, very cool. (here's a picture of it, from a Dutch online store) I didn't want it to be an impulse buy, so I left it. next week I'll be in Amsterdam again, and I'll decide then. I also tried on some other stuff in other stures (even though I said I wouldn't browse... I'm bad ;) I didn't buy anything, though) and really, every single piece I put on, in whatever store I was in, the SA's said it looked fabulous on me. and I had to point out to them that those trousers really were the wrong size... it was kind of funny, really. but I've never had that experience in my hometown, in Utrecht.
