Faith, I love all the short skirts..
As long as the top-half is layered and/or covered nicely...
& the shoes are appropriate for the silhouette & skirt..
it'll look great...!

I am with you on the white jeans...
or any light denims, in fact...
They just look so blah on me...
Totally love them, but they just aren't for me...

Some loose blouses...
Anything high-waisted...
Cinched waist...
Strapless Dresses...
Any blouses that button....

yep i agree totally wiw...i love when the top half is layered and voluminous...it balances out the tiny little skirt really nicely...

and you've reminded me of another thing...paperbag waists!. oh i've seen them look so lovely and i just cant seem to pull them off.... especially when they're worn on the actual waist....i haven't tried wearing something more on the hips....that might work, now that i think about it?....but i think anything tucked in, in general, doesn't work for me...unfortunately...i don't think my bum is flat enough. :p (seriously!.)

this look from yohji haunts me...oh how i wish i could wear something similar...

style.com

love this too...gilles rosier..

style.com

yigal azrouel...

style.com

same goes for anything high waisted...it's not so much a matter of daring to wear as it is a matter of not being able to pull it off...

Faith, I love paperbag waists!
As far as blouses go, I'd say either a very slim tank/tee...
or cropped voluminous layers...
I do volumnious, cropped layers, b/c I, too, can't get away with anything tucked...
As much as I love the simplicity of that look, sadly..
However, the more volume and/or layers you add,
the shoe you wear most be able to carry it...
Maybe a nice wedge or comfy platform?
A great boot would work, too w/ paperbag waist trousers...
I love wearing my olive, rolled leg paperbag waist trousers with slouchy black boots...

I have the most lovely floor length paperbag waist skirt
in black...
I have yet to wear it...
But it makes me feel like a regal baroness whenever I put it on...

Another look I love but am too afraid to try is..
high-waisted pants/jeans...
I always feel insecure about not being a size
0 and feel I wouldn't be able to carry it well..
However, this woman makes me think different...
She looks absolutely lovely, imo...
So elegant & cool...

From the Paris Street Style thread...

^ I feel one's shoes should always show, otherwise you look like a clown on stilts

But I saw a woman the other day wearing dark high-waisted, wide-leg jeans, she definitely wasn't a size 0, and she looked good I thought--and they really made a statement.

I remember well when I could wear paperbag waists--the same years when I could eat anything & everything I wanted & still say no to blood drives because I was underweight--those were the days

Crazy colors for me. And I don't mean tacky ones, but just mixing really bold colors and prints.

Adorefaith I have always felt the same way about white pants. I can't do paperbag waists either... it's a shame, I love the looks you posted. Especially the silk tank and those pants.

I just looked around and found out that Joe's Jeans makes their "Honey" fit in white...hopefully I can find them somewhere and try them on
