with a black coat (I only brought one)?

What top? Black or grey tights?

Or should I stick to the black boots?
I'd stick to the black boots

I was thinking of wearing this as soon as I get the shoes.
the blazer should be darker, a navy blue
but I couldnt find the right one on polyvore.
do you think the blue and black work with the brown?

Will a short black/white houndstooth skirt work with ruby-colored opaques? Like black turtleneck, skirt, knee-high black boots, then ruby tights just for a pop of color? Or should I just come to senses and stick to plain black opaques?

Ok this is the houndstooth skirt

http://www.shops.ca/rtecontent/image/CF38-Suit6.jpg

with a black funnel neck top, black knee-high boots, black coat...would it be appropriate for a coffee date? Or too office-y?

I think red would be fine (this is probably because I am lusting after a pair of red tights. And burgundy. And mustard. And green. Ok, every colour). Not too office-y at all!

I need help choosing a few "perfect black skirts". One preferably to transfer from winter to Spring, and a few that can be seasonless.

I also don't know what shape/length/fullness to go with because, at this juncture, almost ALL types of skirts are "in". And I like them all:

For mid-length, semi-pencil fit (with slight ruffle), I like these:

ISABEL MARANT

yoox.com

MARC BY MARC JACOBS

saks.com
zoom in here

For shorter, "tulip" shaped or "bubble" minis, I like:

ADAM+EVE SATIN PLEATED SKIRT

bluefly.com

bigger here

THAKOON FEATHER SEAMED SKIRT

eluxury.com

3.1 PHILLIP LIM PLEATED BUBBLE SKIRT

nordstrom.com

Then, there are a few of the "fuller" variety I like:
DVF 'BLAZE' SKIRT:

bluefly.com

see it larger here

DAY BIRGER ET MIKKELSON EMLA SKIRT

nap.com

ANNA SUI BASKET WEAVE SKIRT

Shoptwigs.com

Please, just tell me what you think is best from each category. I need opinions.
