lots of layers: wool, cashmere, etc. I'm always cold, especially in the winter!

for me I either layer or wear my fur

Ps - Hebden - I'm with you on the return of the muff - doesn't the one you post double up as a bag or something? (I think I remember seeing it ages ago) - how much is it?

Cold winter days, I would love to stay home, and wrap myself in as many comforters as possible

I'm having a hard time letting go of summer and right now it's in the trasition period where it's still 70 degrees outside, so I've been wearing flip flops ( I know people look at me in my neigborhood like a moron) and I still wear skirts (I just bought one from th lerner and it's so cute---hopefully it'll be warm enough to wear it).

you read my mind - i was thinking of starting a thread on this myself.

i am rubbish at the layering necessary to operate out and about here in copenhagen. but danish girls seem to get it right, without looking all bulky. hats, scarves and gloves are key, especially if you bike, and i am only just beginning to figure out that its better to have some warm neutral colours instead of lots of bright ones that clash with everything.
i have loads and loads of coats and jackets, because that is what you 'get seen in'. i have ski jackets, vintage furs, tweeds, leather, suede, spring weight, down etc etc. but despite the big rack of them that i own, i still wish i could afford one gorgeous charcoal grey maxmara cashmere coat.

Hi All,
Am I the only person who like to get my legs out in cold weather? I sort of like the feeling of cold air around my knees and thighs. So I like a covered up look on my top half, a short skirt with tights and knee length boots. One thing this year are the nice winter shorts in the shops. I've seen some nice tailored ones just above the knee and in Oasis I have seen some nice short shorts but from a wool material. I'm thinking of buying these.
Anyone else like to show off their legs in winter?
Charlotte

^I completely concur!
Apparently, it's better to wear lots and lots of thin layers than wearing one big coat to keep you warm.

Try keeping warm in 20°F (-6°C) if you do not wear fur and you still want to look unfrumpy. Ukrainian winters are harsh.

Yeah and air is an insulator so it doesn't let body heat escape..or something.

Oh wow, I'm actually using my minimal physics knowledge for fashion.

Wool or fur hat, leather gloves and a really long wool scarve...Also something warm on the feet, like wool socks..(depend on the shoes though, I did too many swedish winters in my converse..)Well, the classic grandmothers advice...
