also a lot of the jeans are unisex/meant for men but can surely be worn by females. you may still be able to find super slim kims. the women's spin off line of nudies is called Denimbirds. cheers

My Edun jeans arrived yesterday, and I love them! I've more dry jeans coming too - I've finally found my holy grail of jeans - Denimbirds Tight in Dry Black. Even better, I don't have to pay for them, I'm doing a swap with a girl from Aus Vogue Forums for some Nudie Slim Kims in Dry Stretch that are a 32" leg and too short for me!!!
I actually think they may be the SuperTight, as Tight by D'birds is only a 14" leg opening (like Slim Kims), whereas these look more like a 10" opening, which is why I swapped for them despite taking a 34" leg in wider jeans - being skinny they'll sit on my ankle anyway as they look as tight at Tight Long Johns.
I just bought my first pair of Nudie jeans - $100 for a pair of Super Slim Kims.
I usually take 26s in jeans - but I had to size up. The 27s are pretty damn tight, but mostly in the waist. That's probably good, since they'll stretch out a little..
These are awful photos - I'm going to take some better ones tomorrow - and have 'evolution' pictures as time goes by. Is there anything I should do with these jeans - besides wearing them a lot, and not washing them for many, many months?
Hi Timber, they look great! No, nothing special to do, other than to simply wear them. When I first get dry jeans I do sit on a blanket on the couch just whilst they are still so very new and stiff, but they soften up quickly and then I don't worry so much about transfer of any excess dye.
I'm happy because I managed to swap a pair of 25/32 Slim Kims in Dry Indigo for a pair of Denimbirds 25/32 Tight in Dry Black.. somehow the D'bird 32's seem longer than the Nudie ones, which flapped at my ankles. Will get photos tomorrow too, plus shots of my 7 month Tight Long Johns in Dry Comfort, and 5 month Slim Kims.
uh...about sizing with nudies the conventional wisdom is to size down some do it two sizes--i didn't as well tho, and while the waist is a bit looser now (but i have thin finns that fit high waisted on me) i don't need a belt.
the way you're describing them sounds good--and imo it's best to be able to wear and be comfortable in yer jeans. haha.
anyway yer butt looks great in them.nice fit for sure.
and frankiep i'm anticipating yer pics! :] how do you like the jean quality of denimbirds--i suspect it's pretty close to nudie anyway or maybe lighter? i saw bizzy in waywt thread with some drop-crotch/anti-fit denimbird capri/cutoffs...looked really good (cuz of the cut mostly, hehe).
Not for dry denim, for me that would be impossible in Nudies or Denimbirds. I size up one to two sizes for their dry, and even then they're a nightmare to get on the first time; then after a couple of wears or a sleep in them they're more comfortable.
Their pre-treated denim I'd definitely take my regular or a size down for, those seem very large for size. I'm not sure how they end up so big though, given that if we wear our dry denim for a few months and then wash them, they often shrink a touch in the wash! I guess the pre-treatments are akin to wearing them a few years, maybe.
I find that the D'birds dry denim is just the same as the Nudies dry denim, though the sizes seem a little more generous. I have a pair of D'birds Dry Black bootcut that I converted to an almost straightleg in 25/34 that are much looser around the waist and thighs than any of my Nudies; then this new pair I mentioned above of Tight 25/32 in Dry Black, which aren't as large sized as the Bootcuts but are still larger in cut than the Slim Kims despite all given measurements of rise, knee and hem measurements indicating that they should be the same thing.
I also find that the D'birds are longer in the leg - any 32" in Nudies hit at my ankle, whereas the Tights in a 32" leg reach the floor on me. I have a 33" inseam, hence I try to buy the 34" jeans.
As for sizing of other dry denim brands, I've not had much experience, though so far I've worked out that..:
Nudie dry denim - size up at least one
Nudie dry comfort - take your usual size
D'birds dry denim - take same or up one
Edun dry denim - take your usual size
Levi's dry denim - take your usual size
Tsubi dry denim - take your usual size (just jiggle around first time!)
nudies are known to stretch out quite a bit (at least from reports i read from guys - see: http://www.mynudies.com) and my own experience confirms this. go with whatever sizing you want--some folk like being able to wear and be comfortable out the door (or at least be able to button or zip everything up)--i anticipate for stretch and don't mind mild discomfort and prefer jeans to be pretty fitted...
also the jeans i usually get are unisex or slim jeans for guys--so sizing is probably different. i do remember trying on D'birds and Acne and not liking them at all but also having to size up because i could barely get them buttoned and zipped in the dressing room. hahaha... sizing is hilarious.
but i think, in actuality (actual measurements of where your jeans rest and the actual waist of the jeans), sizing down is smart because denim with less elastane will stretch maybe 1-1.5 inches anyway... that's a full size up. so i'm more concerned with actual waist measurements of jeans versus tagged size since those can't really be trusted between or even sometimes within brand.
also, what kind of Levi's dry denim did you try on? the smallest size they claimed to make in the dry E were huge and had too much room in the seat. pretty awful. their new cuts are horrendous on my body at least...

Hoping you denim experts can help me... I have a pair of APC New Cures size 25, which I've worn for about half a year. They've stretched out to their max, but they're STILL too tight. I can put them on and do all of the buttoms, but it's uncomfortable to move around in them. I love the jeans though, and I plan to buy another pair... what size should I get? 26 or 27?
heh, you'd be the expert now. but I am curious--what size do you normally wear and where is it still tight? i don't even want to imagine how much of a nightmare those must've been to put on when u first got them. and you can always call up APC (at least in NYC) and ask for advice.
Oh man. They were SO tight at the beginning. lol. I usually wear a size 26 (28" waist). They're still tight around the knees, butt, and waist. Overall, just not my size. I guess a 26 should do it then...
Ooh I'm thinking of washing one of my dry jeans soon!
Maybe my Slim Kims. I want them to be looser, they're a touch tight, and once washed and worn a couple of times they'll be much softer. Then I'll get another pair in a size up and start again, so that I can wear them as long as possible without digging red canyons into the flesh on my hipbones..
My SK's I've been wearing for about 5 months regularly, they have some whiskering showing through but it's not extreme. I'm fine with this, I'd like a darker pair with more subtle whiskering anyway. The next pair I'll wear til knackered before washing!
