^ I have no wish at all to stone you
![]() As far as bags, I will say this ... though I have a few more (and I do mean a few), I use two bags per year, one per season. Actually, as I think about it, I have only 3 bags right now. Everything else I've given away, and one I exchanged. And I feel I do have enough ![]() So I would just suggest the thought that you have the feeling of "not enough," and that that feeling is completely unrelated to what is actually in your closet, in the stores, or anything else "real" ... ![]()

Myself, I don't try to stay away from trends ... they are what makes fashion fun after all
I just try to make sure that everything I buy is "so me" vs "it." That way, even when the "it" item changes, what I've bought is still me--which hasn't changed. You have never seen me in the double-dip thread ... not that there's anything wrong with that ![]()

Some good news in my own debt repayment- I over-saved for my income tax (I'm self-employed) and now I can pay off one of my credit cards entirely! Now there's just one more to pay off...

I feel that I'm always in the process of perfecting my wardrobe, and never really enjoying it as is. Part of this is for practical reasons (ie. I only have one pair of jeans that fit properly atm) but there is another side to it which is that feeling of incompletion...always looking forward to that moment where somehow perfection will be achieved: "three months from now I'll have everything I need and getting dressed will be fun and easy"...I've been saying that for years.
It doesn't help that I get a completely different idea of how I want to look every 6 months or so. I definitely use clothes as a means of expressing, or even defining, my identity, and that has always been in flux. I think I also have used clothes as a means of escapism. Right now I feel like I've come full circle to the point I was at when I first got truly interested in fashion at age 9-10. That feeling of just wanting to look feminine, young, and modern. I'm over trying to look like Marlene Dietrich, a futuristic punk, a hippie... but I never know when some other part of me is going to want to take over and wear nothing but bandage dresses and over-the-knee boots or something. It's frustrating. |

fashionista-ta, i do it just the same way!
i'd never buy anything if it wouldn't be "me", just because it's in fashion ... i think i did that once, when i bought some of those stupid huge sunglasses - and the only time i've worn them was while trying them on in the store ![]()
