Jersey and jumper are both British terms for sweaters, so you're both right.

Jersey could also be a top that stretches, like saying I had a jersey top on.

Godet - people always ask me what it is when I refer to it. Its the triangular insert of fabric put into skirt seams or splits to give it more flare.

They're long thermal underwear, that extend down to the ankles. For either men or women as far as I know.

um...that is exactly what they are anna......
i have silk jersey ones...warmer than cotton or wool...and they also come in nicer colours for women...i have black...
they are a cute alternative to tights or leggings under skirts and they are warmer than tights too...
i like to layer the tops under thin tops in the winter when it's a bit chilly...looks cute and keeps me warm...

(it's one of my 'style secrets'... ..)

my long john's have a band around the ankle(very traditional)...and the silk jersey is the key...it's slightly sheer...but still quite warm...
the blue ones are like mine...but there are more modern versions now as well...
ie-low rise...very slim (just like leggings)

I'm guessing this is the right place to ask this: what do you call a capelet with a hood?
