I'm not sure if there's an actual word for it . . . maybe call it interwoven various shades of grey or whatever the colors were?
OT: the outfit was cute and I really liked the dress--very pretty pattern and color

Not sure..I checked the danish word for it in a danish-english dictionary and came up w. : mottled; mixed
..native speakers would you use "mottled" to describe "a mix of coulours mostly in knitwear....something like salt and pepper but it's not" ??
this is heathered...grey knits are usually 'heathered'...ie-a grey sweatshirt..
it means there are darker and lighter shades woven in so it's all one colour, but with some depth...
usually found in wool sweaters or pants or jackets......
