Movies, magazines and my Mummy! She had a subscription (what seemed like) to every magazine on Earth. I hope I pass the love for fashion on.....to somebody.... (no kiddies yet)

This may sound outrageous, but I remembered passing by this Italian clothes place in New Jersey, and recognizing and, after seeing a Dolce&Gabbana men's shirt, I said to myself "hey, I know that label!"

The rest is / was history.

Oh my. I don't remember. Though what I do remember when I was a wee girl in primary school was me reading Vogue or some fashion magazine while the other girls devoured Sweet Valley Twins.

Fashion was inbedded in me at a very tender age. It started with my grandmother who was this amazimgly fierce queen. She would have my mother dress me up in these couture doll-like princess dresses whenever I had to sing for special events. I was five-six years old. My mother would make me up and all that. Of course I loved it.
What really got me was the supermodel era with Linda, Christy, Naomi, Cindy, Tatiana, Yasmeen, Claudia... I LOVED these women. I was subscribing to Amer Vogue in my very early teenage years and I always had to know who these beautiful women were wearing.

apparently I was always into fashion. my mom says that when I was probably 2 or 3, she'd try to put a dress on me and I'd refuse, running over to my closet and firmly pointing at MY choice saying "THAT one!" I was also always into playing dress up... when I got my first american girls doll, I just went crazy because they had all those lovely little outfits from different eras, and also the life-size costumes as well...it definitely tipped off my interest in historical fashion. I also figured skated, and from the age of 10 designed all of my competition dresses myself...
when I was about 11 I discovered twiggy, mary quant, and vogue (though I wasn't allowed to read it at the time because of some of the ads/editorials...my parents were strict). from there on I was a hopeless case.

When I was about three I started to become a fanatic of the Wizard of Oz, and my parents eventually bought me a pair of "ruby red slippers!" I wore those things to death...Also, the lavish pink dress worn by Glinda was one of my favorites, I used to pretend I was here everytime I wore a dress! I had fashion shows wearing my mothers gowns! Oh to be young again!

I think that for me it was a combination of growing up with a very stylish mother and father with growing up in an area that's fairly label conscious. I've been hearing names like Prada, Versace and Fendi for as long as I can remember.

I remember little times from back when I started getting interested in fashion, like looking through my mothers Vogue, seeing advertisements from big design houses, when Versace was murdered and hearing about him on the news, seeing knockoff Gucci sweatsuits in Manhattan and pronouncing it Gussi, watching the VH1/Vogue style awards, Jennifer Lopez in Versace at the Grammies.....so many little things that kind of got me interested in fashion. And having the internet played it's part too, being able to see new things as they were sent down the runway.

I guess it was only natural I get into fashion being exposed to all of those things early on. Thank god now at least I know more then just the names.

When I was a little bit younger, one of my friends has a game where you were a fashion designer, and I really was addicted to it!
I remember that everytime I went to her house, we're always played that game, it was awesome!!!!

It was always there from a really early age. My mother is really into fashion and was always really label-conscious and she used to dress me up in Versace, Armani and Chanel. But when I grew a bit older I began to understand it a bit more and started mixing high street with designer for a more individual look.

My Mom said I could watch her shopping when I was a few months for hours. And she always talked to me about designers of places to go. Makeup, heels, fur, magazines. My dad isn't stylish of chic. He's more trashed and vintage. And I put those things together. Got used to the magazines, the gay friends of my mom, shopping, and copy cat my Mom her stories of being both in shock when Mr.Versace himself died.

I believe I breath fashion, ever since my Mom hold me in her arms. Thats all I can say. The next thing I know is always on school I told people about designers, start drawning, painting, making things. Then I was two I already loved making necklaces and thats still the thing. Bit by Bit and more and more, and now I can't imagine a live without fashion, style or shopping

I can remember when i was around 17 years old and at Performing Arts college, i was strangely drawn to clothes that were unusual in style, shape and colour.I lived in kentish town, shopped in Covent Gardens, West End of London,Camden Market, Selfridges etc. I learned to customise different outfits, because i hated looking like everyone else.
