i love this designer's pics i guess its because i find the people he draws styleish.

Lou Doillon, Lenny Kravitz, The 60's, Sailors - Rope & Wood (decking), David Hockney (& his Pages of Vogue), Vogue & i-D, Africa and fair trade, Japanese fashion & at the moment Marni is my current favorite designer.

Thanks, travolta. I'm naturally attracted to artists whose work has an obsessive quality to it, plus I'm an ex-sculpture major, so I suppose it's not surprising that these are some of my favorites. And thanks for the link. I strongly disagree with most of the points the writer tries to make though...and I don't think his disorganized writing style helps much either...

ah, i can see the ex-sculpture major connection. i really respond to the ephermenal quality to their work. i think the tom sach's skull piece is pretty successful in conveying this. as an ex-industrial design major i can relate a bit to what they are grappling with. a tom sachs quote i liked, "systems are what makes us great, they can solve problems but they are easily corrupted."
you should check out this book i've already peddled in another thread: design for the real world-human ecology and social change by victor papanek. its probably the closest thing to a handbook for industrial design...and it speaks about different methods of problem solving. it's a pretty thought provoking read.

She's in fashion I'm very identified with your collage! Really good inspiration!
the sixties, David Hockney, Marni. And I like Lou Doillon style too.
