victorian aesthetic photography, like this portrait by rossetti of jane morris. and julia margaret cameron's pre-raphaelite/mediaeval themed photos.

celtic knotwork and crosses, mythology, and illuminated manuscripts... (first one is from http://www.aon-celtic.com/, the second is from the book of kells, and the third is a celtic altar cross)

indeed, I always think, more than any other attribute, kindness is the most important quality someone can have. if only we could be kind to each other...

softgrey - the west of my country is very like the west of ireland (but better IMO)

utopia - thanks for those pictures - have you ever visited some of the cemetaries on the western isles - truly inspiring & humbling experience. They are often built right next to the sea - so you have to walk over fields (machar) to get to them. How amazing & what a priviledge to be laid to rest in a place like that. Nature is so inspiring.

I also find aesthetic/fashion inspiration from...

icelandic music, such as sigur ros and bjork...and minimal music, such as rachel's, philip glass, and sylvain chauveau.

paintings of flemish peasants from the 1500's and 1600's, for the use of colours, layers and interesting lines.

vintage things: thrift stores, rockabilly, johnny cash, the rat pack, and black and white films.

a bit of an eccentric mish-mosh really, but thats me.

btw meg I'm going to move this to personal style since it's really more about personal style than it is trends.
