Wearing head to toe one color only
Think black shoes, black pants, black top, black coat, black bag, black watch......

Could be any color. Do you think it's ok to wear things that way or is it unpleasing to the eye?

just in black. Other color would be strange (yellow, orange, red...)

wearing head to toe one colour is one of the tricks you can use to look thinner...

because your eye doesn't stop along the way...it gives the illusion that you are taller...which instantly makes you look slimmer... oprah does it A LOT!!!...

this was hugely popular in the 80's with designers like donna karan...

Hmm... I'm reluctant to say yes without any sort of jewellery or accessories.

I like it in a number of colours - black, navy, grey - but i think it has to be done with caution with some colours .....like green for instance. Whilst I can imagine some people could pull it off, I think it would have to be somone with significant style know how - otherwise you could end up looking like an overgrown caterpillar (or worse!). I think 'all' of some colours would look bad - beige, pastels, white come to mind..... It can look very '80's.

Black is the only color I think this works with, although all red is a good Satan costume.

I think it works with all black because it's classic and easy for anybody to pull off. There is a danger to it though cause no two blacks are the same shade but when that's taken into account and the blacks are similar it looks fine.

Colors on the other hand are a no-no for me.

With color I prefer to see a variation in tone rather than strict monochromatism... my Satan costume is scarlet and burgundy...

I do that with black once and I while. I think that some people can pull it off with white in the summertime (if they're thin), but it can't be bulky or shapeless. The silhouette must be pleasing.

one of my pet peeves is when blacks are two different shades. I love if there are different textures and you can see textures but I absolutely cannot stand an inky black pant and then a washed out black top :yuck: I think all white can look very nice. as long as the shape of the shirt/pants/skirt is modern than it can look quite sleek.

I agree, Meg.

I wear all-black almost every single day, so to answer your question: no, I do not think it's unpleasing to the eye. Black isn't always an easy way out, in my opinion. I've seen quite a bit of low-quality items in black thrown together and it is not pretty. It's about quality, people.
