Thank you so much guys That's so much more helpful than I expected the replys to be! I've saved all the links and will visit them all I really hope I can find something. The Netherlands don't have anything for the bigger plus sizes, at least not in the stores.

Thanks so much I really appreciate!
tried to give both of you karma, but I have to spread reputation or something

I'm so happy I found this thread. It makes me happy I'm not alone in the plus-sized world here.

Mgr...

There's something quite off about this dress, although I'm a Marjorie stan. Maybe she needed a more defining body shaper.

I think it's the horizontal stripe effect, combined with the fact that it's actually a wave and not one flat stripe. And then nothing on the hem, it looks unfinished. Wow, is that unflattering.

Yuck! Why does she wear that style of dress? It's very unflattering. The woman next to Lance looks nice though

^^^Blech. For me the problem is the diamond 'nipple' effect. I always hate it when a pattern does that. Plus she's got the quadrateets going again.

BellaCouture, I hope you find something you like for your Mom. Please let us know where you end up finding her coat. 3RingCircus, thank you for taking the time to post the Dutch and German catalog information; I like learning about what's available throughout the world.

For those of you who may be interested I purchased two cashmere v-neck sweaters from the Land's End website/catalog; one in dark olive and the other in dark brown. The quality is very good for the price and they have plus sizes in their cashmere sweaters. I believe they have a UK outlet as well.

Land's End always seems to have interesting cashmere. I need to look into them.

Unrelated, here is Courtney Arnot, wife of Dr. Bob, w/a couple of other women at a Nan Kempner-related event at Christie's. Court is on the left.

Bella Couture, I just Googled and I got a whole list of places. Easy.

Courtney is the wife of a doctor yet she's not slapping on the SPF25+? That sunburn on her face is dreadful. And I'm guessing there was a very presentable jacket to go over that shirt, and it should have stayed on.

Mrs Arnot needs a size larger blouse. Nice to see Mrs Kempner being honored, she was rail-thin but one of my style icons.

Mrs. Arnot does look like she's got sun damage, as do several New York UES social types (do a Google Image search on Elizabeth Meigher and Somers Farkas to see what I mean) and her breastasiz (sic) do seem strained in the shirt, now that you look at it.

I also like the lady in the middle's style. I'm a sucker for silk shantung. My mom, who is nearly 80, would look great in that jacket.

Mrs Farkas is another lady I always check out, despite the differences in out body types, and she does always look well-baked. I'm afraid she'll end up with the skin that looks like shoe leather that I see some older ladies with here in Vegas.

Is that a look she and the other ladies are pursuing or is it just a result of skiing/tennis/etc without adequate SPF?

I am not sure if it's deliberate pursuit or a result of outdoor activities sans SPF. I hope it's not deliberate because it's not terribly attractive.

As I've said before, Somers has grown on me, I think because she's tall, same with Nan Kempner. Although I am a tall pear, I tend to look at thinner tall people in general for ideas.
