i've seen some japenses people in my area, i love the way they dress, and im really into the whole rugged look, like the baggy jeans and the converse trainers and the layerness lol. anybody else into that stuff, and if so? what have they got from it?
Not too sure what you mean by the rugged look but I do like that kind of beat up, distressed tee and slouching jeans (not baggy though) with some low-tech trainers style. Wait a minute, I think that's what you meant forgive me for being slow.
I think Michael Pitt (actor who was in "The Dreamers") pulls off the dirtbag chic look very well...he wears his battered clothing with a sense of authenticity to it.
Distressing, deconstruction, and unfinished techniques can be incredible if done with taste to the right pieces. But I'm not into the "homeless style" at all. So I guess I like rugged style to the point of looking "artistically rough around the edges", but not when you just look poor (i.e. outfit of plain torn up jeans, beat up Converse-like tennis shoes, and "vintage" t-shirt).
