i love the idea of this thread...
has anyone got anything new to contribute...?

i love seeing the way it's styled on the runway vs the way a person wears it on the street...

My apologies for forgetting to cite the source -- both runway pics are from style.com; the third pic is my own. Thanks.

welcome vika and thanks for adding the credits for your images...

the dress looks like it is open on the side there in the runway pic...
is yours like that as well?...
or did they make it closed up for the stores?

Thank you . The dress has a zipper as well and can be opened up as on runway -- just not a great way to attend Lincoln Center . . . .

Here is another one -- Calvin Klein Collection, also fall'03, a season of so many great dresses! (style.com and my own pics)

The dress has the same top (spaghetti straps, just can't see in my pic because of how I am holding the blackberry) and all of the same elements as far as the silhouette of the skirt, hem and fabric - it just looks a lot fuller on me as I am probably at least 10 inches shorter than the model

One more set -- this time a clearly commercial version of the balenciaga skirt from fall'08 (style.com and my pics). I just got in on sale recently, so have not had a chance to wear it with my "standard" black tights and various black sweaters and jackets.

Fashionista-ta, the seaming is beautiful on that skirt! Who is it by/what season? (It looks like Bottega Veneta?) And what's the material? Is it linen-silk mix?

Yes, it is Bottega ... SS '08 I believe. It's this very heavy linen, I think they called it double linen ... what's great about it is that it doesn't wrinkle much. So different from other linen I've had ...
