so glad to see there are others who feel they are channeling a different energy and aspect of themselves every few days, if not everyday....

i too often feel like a complete paradox....
one day i am crowded with bangles and beads and flowing fabrics...
the next i am suited up in blacks and greys and very rigid and minimalist...

they all feel like 'me'...
just me with different moods and masks on.....
there are so many parts to us all as individuals....i'm not suprised our style reflects that.....especially if we feel we express ourselves and our mentalities through our clothing....

sometimes i feel 'pressured' to choose a style and stick to it....
i wonder how i can feel true to myself while i'm channeling hippie one day and androgyny the next...
but i guess thats the beauty of the human identity.....so many little ins and outs to it all.....you can be so many things and yet still be a WHOLE....

I'm definitely the same way. Personally, I feel like people who wear the exact same look every day (punk, or preppy, or boho or whatever) are probably trying too hard to make an image.

i like this description as well

i used to dress really wild w/ scraps of colored felt i found on my floor into tube tops over shirts etc etc. maybe it was a bit unfunctional and messy looking, but those days it was the most fun i have ever had w/ clothes!! i never felt silly or self conscious -- infact, it was definately one of the most powerful artistic outlets. now that i know a little more about tailoring, material and fit...i wish i almost didn't!!

Hehe. I used to say that "I didn't have style." Now I'm going to call it schizo-style

I like it. It expresses how I feel. It never gets boring and offers an excuse to shop

My fashion choices range from elegant and classic, to funky Japanese street style, to short minis from the 60's, to long flowy dresses that make me feel like I'm in my pointe shoes again, to simple boring blah...

I don't have one particular "look", but I'm always comfortable in everything I wear and whatever I'm wearing usually matches my mood (hmm...maybe I'm schizophrenic!)

I mix and match looks from every fashion genre and I love it that way.

Yay for fashion schizos!!

I'm so glad I'm not alone.
Sometimes I feel very grungy..other times I feel like being classy..then I feel like dressing all vintage/layering, sometimes I feel like being very simple..and then again, other times, I feel like being a burst of colours.

I don't know whether this is good or bad..I feel like my style is very much evolving, every month practically it develops into a new stage, so it's definitely not stable. I can't say I'm satisfied with it; since fashion and trends are so fickle, I feel intimidated by them sometimes..but I'm learning to cope and trying to find what I feel most confident in.

i'm wondering who among us dresses the same everyday...? i think those who are deeply affected by fashion and the idea that what you wear is who you are, or who you want to be seen as (whether it is that day, or everyday)... would wear drastically different outfits to portray these aspects of our personalities.

fashionistas are just as complex as anyone else, so I know that on certain days I will feel more dark, so my outfits will reflect that. I have a rollercoaster style that works for me. My makeup follows it too, when I feel especially crappy, my makeup routine bumps up 5 notches. Wardrobe follows the same kind of idea, some days I wear super simple, almost peasant looking clothes, very minimalist. and the next day I am looking super complicated, many layers, colors, lots of detail.

its all to give clues that aren't written and not so obvious...

Do you stick to one (personal) style??
i was just wondering cause i LOVE the vintage style, but i like the glam colourful runway style as well (and others). kinda strange...but i have this feeling that i should just stick to one. is this what they mean with, she/he is still looking for her/ his own style?? hmm...

Isnt having an own style more like you dress as you want/feel. Nevermind dressing according to one school or not. Just dress like you want too and be brave enough to look bold

I think I have so many different styles..but if someone see me from outside they would defenitely say that it's just one... A lot of black..vintage but from different years so maybe I know that one day I dress 70's and the next 50's but other people just se that there are old clothes...
