Silk/Chiffon Scarves-looking for alternate options...
hi...
so i have a bunch of great silk and chiffon scarves in various colours and prints...

*gets out pocket watch*

send them to me, sennnd them to me....

You could applique/ sew a few together along the length (in co-ordinating colours) and possibly make simple bags out of them or bigger wraps. I swear I'll have palpatations if I agree to badge making.

You could make headbands/headwraps.......

Or buy some REALLY big beads (think Cosmic Wonder ss06) and put the scarves in there and tie them all together to make really interesting scarf/necklace pieces.....

Or put two together to make a chunkier winter scarf......

Or you can make tight knots with them (like 2-3 per scarf) and tie them somewhere on your ouftits!?

or just keep them as they are, you never know when you'll need them again......

I'll try to post pics of ideas.

Chanel....that sounds pretty good!
I would just make bag ornaments out of them......
Or sew them together to make belts. If you can be bothered, you could get a T-shirt make a slash on the neck and then sew the scarves around the neckline and add a silk scarf bow on one side of the neckline. Or sew them on the bottom of the shirt to make a side tie shirt.

i have to cut the edges so they are raw or something...

remember how i did this?...
but i already did this...so i don't know how many things like this i can really do...

**maybe i could make strips and attach to a t shirt/top to make ruffles in the front like a tuxedo shirt?...
*or applique some to a shoulder somewhere..?(purechris did something like this...)
*or add some trim and a bow to a sweater?...

help!...i'm confusing myself...

Oh yeah...the lanvin thing. Get some polystyrene balls about the size of chesnuts and string them on to some elastic, long enough for a necklace. Then wrap lengths of silk scarves around and secure the silk with some wire in between the balls and cover the wire up with more of the silk scarves. I'm gonna do this once I buy some black chiffon to cover the balls with.

Other things you could do :

-Use them to make straps for an old vintage handbag
-Worn as a belt
-Worn as tie on a white shirt, using pins to pin it around the neckline, and let it fall each piece down
-Use it as a bandana, very retro hippie look

I sometimes wrap them round my wrists if they're fairly short and then tie them in a kinda neat pussy bow so they drop to the side, although someone did ask me 'what had happened to my arm' once.

edit I like the 'trim/bow to a sweater' idea.

Cut them into delicate strips, and stick them together..... then attach wherever you want with safety pin.....
