and some straight legged blue jeans with just any normal shirt and my black coat that looks like this

I usually wear my Burberry trench but I need to get it tailored as I wear a smaller size now. So I am without that and it's been raining a lot here lately. I do hate it in the summer when it's raining but you roast if you wear a coat.ick.

stormy weather here has me coming back to this thread and still not really happy with the options ...

boots and a raincoat are not a reasonable solution in 80 degree storms...
bleh...

I wear a lot of dresses with opaques and biker boots. I really want to get some OTK boots to wear with skinny black trousers and tunics as seen at Gucci.

Skinny jeans and flat pumps are a staple of mine but really, the pumps are not practical.

I saw a woman today (rainy day) on the bus
with some cool clothes
A lightweight long jacket going down to her calves, with a hood.. black and with taupe trim and black stitching.. silver buckles and straps to tighten (and I assume it would also make some nice gather effect)
--it had a sort of cape as well, like those civil war soldier uniforms

and her Pants with gathers at the seams, on one side of each leg

Both pieces were made of the raincoat material ..or trackpants material
I wonder if she made them herself because they looked utilitarian.. normal..because of the colours and materials.. but the design was quite interesting --I've never seen it for functional clothes

The photograph of the Public Market Center, given its location, is quite appropriate for a topic like this. :p

I think the solution when it's hot is to waterproof yourself ... shoes the rain can wash over (very open sandals perhaps), and light clothes that can get wet & dry quickly. Perhaps a swimsuit underneath :p A great big deep umbrella is helpful ...
