turn 'em inside out, and cold cold cold.
don't forget to look at the care label though! if it says dry clean, and they were expensive, you might wanna just take them to the cleaners.

^ Yep. And another obvious thing: don't tumble dry. I wash my jeans on the wool cycle with ordinary detergent and hang them to dry. I must say there has been minimal "damage".

If you want extra delicate detergent, I say you should look for handwash/wool ones?

Cool water and don't use the dryer. The dryer wrecks stretch fabrics over time.

I know everyone says hot water makes jeans shirnk, but I never understood why. Scientifically cold actually makes everything shrink except for water which is the only exception, and heat makes things expand.
