I think that it's a wonderful day dress, perfect for a stroll in soho (on a weekday ), village, etc. the only accessories I see fit for it are thick leather cuffs (or a watch on a cuff like you said). I think the dress being sleeveless is screaming for these. I think nothing else as far as accessories, since the neck is pretty high up, no necklace, maybe a button or two on the dress (since you are feeling punkish lately )- I recommend a free "Poetry Advocate" button from the poetry society at 72 Spring street (right around the corner ). The shoes are important for this, because it will either dress-up or dress-down the dress itself. I would love to see either low heel boots or low heel open toe shoes/sandals with it. I detest flip-flops so they are automatically out in my book.

thanks for the input everyone...

it's good to have more than one way to wear something...so all these different ideas are really useful...

i was thinking of silver shoes as well-the way prada romance suggested...and the peretti jewelry is a good tip...sounds very polished...and grown up...

i hadn't really considered adding colour...but now i might...

space and faust...i was actually thinking of doing a mix of crystal accessories with one or two smallish buttons...

i have one that says...i ny... i might even slap on my little enamel american flag pin to make it a bit political... after all...it's my 'urban warrior look'...

*faust...you're so funny... i confess...i AM feeling a bit punkish these days...i guess it just feels good to be free of the corporate chains that bind since i left my last job so i'm sowing some wild oats ...

I think it would look great with flat canvas boots (I'd wear white).

as for accessories, I'm thinking of some muti range necklace, big and funky, in bright color

I wouldn't wear it to work, but other than that, anytime is fine I think

i just thougt of something else...a couple of good brooches would probably look good pinned to one of the straps...but what would they look like?...

rhinestone?...
YES!

I think two brooches with a pearl strand or two handing inbetween pinned to the straps would be fab

or just brooches..some antiquey looking ones

I'd wear that dress with a MIUMIU plastic necklace and some flats .. it depends on how tall you are (though I do like the Pradas suggested on previous posts)
And ... I know it doesn't seem necesary, but I'd wear a bag ... maybe with synthetic materials or leather ... some contrasting color ...
If I'd have to use the dress pockets I'd put a daisy or two on it!
And ...wear to shop, to go for a cafe ... maybe meet up a g/f for brunch or a day at the park!

It looks like a dress that would go to a gallery opening. That's pretty obvious, though.
