What to wear to a wedding
I apologize if there is already a thread for this, but I couldn't find one, so here goes.
My old dance teacher's wedding is tomorrow, and I still don't know what I'm going to wear (late, I know...)! I'm just wondering what you guys think about this.
The attire is supposed to be "formal."
Are skinny black jeans with heels and a fancy top too casual (or black)?
How fancy should a dress be?

The wedding isn't too casual nor too ritzy. It's a pretty average one. It's not in a church, but at a nice cafe place (where many weddings are held).

Thanks!

^ Looks like the wedding's already happened, but I would say yes, jeans are too casual for most weddings, especially a church wedding. OK, all the weddings I've been to

Does a wedding photographer need to match the wedding's color scheme/theme, or are they free to choose their own outfit? I'm wondering because recently I was asked to photograph a family member's wedding, and since the colors of the wedding haven't been decided on yet, I'm not sure whether to wait to buy a dress or not.

Please say I don't have to match, because I'd love to go out and find a pretty new dress I can wear outside of a wedding!

I think you definitely should ... sounds like a perfect opportunity to wear a hat, and this one's great.

No, I don't think you'd have to match at all ... possibly photographers are meant to blend in Do you have anything that looks like a potted plant?

That means you've slept with the groom...

I wish this dress was available in gray.
A friend of mine have gone bridezilla, and won't let her guests wear red ( ), blue (!), black, green or yellow. That leaves me with very few choices. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm the maid (matron?) of honor I'd wear black just for spite. Have anyone seen any nice gray dresses?

Wearing red means you've slept with the groom? Uh oh ... I wore red to a wedding before ... but of course I did sleep with the groom.

How about a floral dress, since I have plenty of those? No, I understand what you mean by trying to blend in, and that is probably what I'll aim for. Now I just have to find the perfect dress that fits those guidelines--a difficult task for someone like me.
