hmm.. wouldn't a long dress be too "gowny"? It's an afternoon wedding + dinner after the wedding. Not very formal from what I gather.

yeah its true and if you dont want to be too dressy then go for a long one but something simple. I think it would be classy to wear a long dress...even if no one else is.

My budget's around 300.. but the cheaper the better I saw some gorgeous dresses from Neiman and Saks.. might stop by my local Saks and try them out. Meanwhile, keep the suggestions coming!

Neiman's is having a sale right now with a lot of suits. My suggestion get a pair of suit pants and a flirtier top and voila

We had a similar thread pretty recently that might have some suggestions that appeal to you.

What are your thoughts on patterened tights? Because I frequently wear lace tights in the summer when my legs aren't fit to be seen (I am a klutz and frequently have bruises, scrapes, and cuts) and this seems to be a reasonable compromise, because then the damage to my legs doesn't, but it is slightly more seasonable than a long skirt.

Then again, there are some very cute long dresses out there. I believe Calvin Klein has a tea-length strapless cotton eyelet sundress out this year. I think it was cK. It was cute as hell. If you go to Saks, you will probably see it. They had powder blue, pink, and I think pistachio green, as well as white, which you obviously wouldn't be getting.

i love the dress that the girl who was meant to be marrying matthew mcconaughey wore in the end scenes of the wedding planner-it was a strapless number which was so beautiful. if anyone's seen the film they know what im talking about.
