Clearly , this is a very big and personal issue with waaay to many people and both sides are passionate about it . That is the beauty of free speech . I know that i speak for both my partner and i when i say that fur is for the animals that are born with but i do respect the opinion of others who may not agree . As for the conduct of some activists , i do feel that some go over board for the cameras but the underlying mesage is still there . NO FUR .

Not a big fan. I'm not offended by it... but I will never add it to my wardrobe. Just isn't a particularly attractive thing to me.

Personally, I think it's pretty pointless, esp. with all of the innovations in materials. I have one fur jacket that I bought vintage/second hand for a dress up party and I am okay with that because it's old and used and I got to support a cool indie store. If I am gonna drop a few hundred dollars on something, it sure as hell wont be a full-length mink. BUT, I dont believe in telling people what to do or what to wear. And after seeing "Farenheight(sp?)911," the world has got bigger fish to fry. I guess , just for me: No Fur.

Fur is a beautiful material, and has extreme potential as a sort ot medium for innovative fashions.

Animal activists such as PETA has gone to the extent that they have adopted terroristic measures to expand their message.

Throwing dead animals into people's lunches? Spray painting, and barging into high end stores?

Not to mention acts of slander.

I find it sort of contradictory to eat meat (given the state of slaughterhouses) and yet refuse to wear fur
but maybe that's just me
My take on this is that if I already eat enough meat to harm the animal population, then why continue harming it more with wearing fur? It sure does look luxurious and pretty, but I wouldn't wear it.

No, I do not wear fur. About 6 years ago, I was given a floor length black mink as a gift from the man I was seeing at the time. I wore it about 4 times and then sold it, after we split up, of course. I was very ashamed to be seen in it, didn't know what to do with it, knew if it hung in my closet for too long, the pelts would come off, etc. so I sold it, for less than half of what he paid, might I add.

It was a beauty as far as fur coats go, but it was too big, too long, too mink and too politically incorrect for me.

J Lo wears a lot of fur, I've noticed. *shrug*

I guess I'm no J Lo.

The thought of wearing a dead animal's carcass on my shoulders is just revolting.

Eh, it takes all kinds to make a world. I can't really preach about fur because I'm a total carnivore and to yell at fur-wearing people would just be hypocritical.

I do agree with whoever said that if we actually saw how these animals are slaughtered, both for our food and our clothing, we probably would feel so ill that we could never look at meat or fur again without becoming queasy. Most people never get the opportunity to see it in person but I think it would be quite effective.
