Love the way this is captured, with the implied animal metamorphoses. Cool.

I love it! I see it as just a fun marketing thing - and the clothing is absolutely great anyhow; the photographs just add drama. IMO, this is better than a lot of lookbooks, that have boring outdoor shots, or bland looking models. The play with colour is cool too; I like how her ear is pink in this shot:

^Yes, I completely agree. I wasn't sure at first because I did think it was distracting from the clothes but it's not like you can't see the clothes at all, therefore it's a double treat getting alluring images and awesome clothes. I think she's still struggling to find her very own aesthetic, she's always referencing to a few other designers but she's definitely progressing and this looks much more mature and defined than her previous collections. I love how she uses the touch of colors both in the clothes and the pictures, too.
hmm...
i'm with zazie on this one...annoyed is the right word...
it's distracting and not done in enough of an artistic or inspired way to warrant the distraction...
i could maybe handle it in the first and last shot...
like-front and back cover...
but not throughout the whole thing...
it's too much and it's not good enough to keep repeating...
i wish they'd actually come in tighter on the model so I could get a better look at the clothes in this case... ...
thanks for the images psylocke...
what else do you know about this designer...?
i haven't heard of them before...
are they new or am i just late to the party...?...

All I know is that she is a Japanese designer who's still very young but has been showing her collections at Tokyo Fashion Week for a few years now. I love some of her earlier collections, especially FW2010 which reminded me a bit of Haider Ackermann and Ann D. I saw some pieces from the SS2010 collection at Layers London and was surprised by how nice it looked in real life, very wearable and cool.
