If there is a McQueen imitation contest,SB definitely could be the winner. Her designs are McQueenish, but they're no McQueen.Something quintessential and spiritual missing here. Each McQueen show by Lee himself was a stage art,was deadly romantic and soul-searching.And that's where SB lacks—the wow factor.
I can't agree more. That's what I've thought since Sarah's first collection came out. The only collection that I feel interested in is the S/S 12 collection. Nevertheless, it only excites me a bit but can't take my breath away.
Just watched the show.. do you think this collection was like, about bees, or something?
Edit: I mean, the clothes, the hats, the bags, the shoes, the backdrop, the jewellery was plastic mock-tortoiseshell like honey, the floortiles were honey-comb shaped, the finale dresses were 'flowers', the music was buzzing.. way to take a concept completely at face value.
