Hmm.. seems a little like Chloe and dare I say it, Topshop that is given a couture fitting. She is normally a lot more conceptual. I'm not really sure what she's getting at. It neither pushes the creative envelope nor looks like the pricetag it undoubtedly commands.

I completely agree.

Concur wholeheartedly with you, also Helena. This overt sweetness from AV is a bit shocking for her as it's always a contrasting aesthetic with her. It's a bit strange to see this from her.

I was checking in hopes that someone had already mentioned this.

I'm a little... disappointed?

Why does everything have to be big and exciting? They don't do this to entertain us. I like it. Wonderfully creative and minimalistic at the same time. I'd like to see more though.

I dont think people dislike it because it's not 'big' and 'exciting'. in my very own case, i dont like it merely because of the lack of these two adjectives you mention...because it's far cry from the wonderfully creative and minimalistic collections she used to make.

It is couture, not ready to wear. She is recognized by the Chambre Syndicale. Every season people get confused and say 'well this isn't couture' just because it's not ott and ballgowns but actually wearable couture. her stuff is really stuff you need to see in person. I've seen her ready to wear at Liberty's one time and it was one of most gorgeous shirts I've ever seen. The fabric and the treatment on it was amazing. That said, I wish more from this collection. She hasn't seemed as strong since she debuted her first couture collection. And H I agree, the fabrics seem a bit off for winter.
