As a whole, the shapes seem different and there is less embellishment, compared to the other HC collections. It's anyway nice, but I think it's very spring/summer
I believe what we are seeing here is AVH spring/Summer 07 pret a porter she just always shows during couture week. For some reason she falls into the categories that permit her to show during couture week and she traditionally shows at this time - there was the same confusion last couture week! These pieces should be in stores early in 07 and are not couture.
I am not loving the ultra sheerness of some of the pieces but I am a sucker for her little black jackets...
Hmmm, I quite like this collection but I agree with helena that a certain edge is missing. I'm normally drawn to AVH because of the contrast the pieces seem to have but to me this just seems quite girly.
Yes I'm also thinking Ready to wear Spring/Summer. It's cute, feminine and some of the pieces are interesting yet simple but it's just not working because of the category it's been put in.
I have to confirm that this is indeed a S/S 2007 ready to wear collection, not haute couture. She does have a so-called couture part every season, but it doesn't follow any of the guidelines that the Chambre Syndicale is asking for (sur-mésure tailoring and certain percentage of handwork involved per garment) - these are clothes that are free to be ordered from shops, regardless if it is the regular RTW part or couture.
As for the actual collection, I too have to agree that she is becoming a little too frilly and girly for my own taste... the deconstruction is still there (some of the small dresses look as if they were deconstructed from two children's dresses - a hint to the fact that she gave birth only two months ago) but it is not giving an edge here... I also agree that there is by far too much sheerness envolved here, it simply won't look good if you put a little top underneath the sheer plastron shirt frons or visible underwear underneath those stripe-y bloomers!
i really like the softness here...
probably because i already have a closet FULL to the brim with minimalist 'edgy' strong looks...
and some softer pieces seem like they would compliment what i already own quite nicely...
besides...
it's something NEW in my world......
my new jacket by her has asymmetrical ruffles...and i LOVE that!!...
