^^^oh, it's magical. I'm absolutely in love with the textures and the ever muted, utter romantic palette he always uses. The corsetry element also remains...It's just so lovely

This is lovely!
the cohesion of materials and textures is beautiful... love the treatment of fabrics..
there's so much going on without appearing (too) overwhelming.. just enough to notice the individual pieces that appeal to you (and really really want now... )
thank you runner

thanks for posting the pics of the individual pieces runner...
you are right....
less costume-y on their own...

i definitely think the tops are stronger than the bottoms though...
i could see pairing the romantic tops with something a bit 'tougher' on the bottom (cropped cargoes maybe?)...
and then that would make them more contemporary/modern and easier to wear imo...

i especially like the first two tops in post #41...
they look comfy and cool at the same time...

runner..
could you please explain this more...?

I feel like I'd stumble upon all these lovely
pieces in a beautiful, antiquarian trunk...
in a lovely attic somewhere far away...
Just gorgeous...
I love all the easy details...
& the necklace made of what seems to be shoelaces (???)
is very beautiful, too...
Thanks for posting, Runner! Amazing as always...

I think I know why you said the term steam punk softgrey.
but I just wanted to call it progressive rock, if anything.
because in my mind it has elements which are associated more with attributes of some prog rock.

hmv.co.jp

also just artwork and album titles like " to our children's children's children " , " on the treshold of dream " , etc.
aren't those suitable for this stuff askikataski?
and maybe those clothes would feel kin to mellotron (which is typical of prog rock).

wiw, I don't know if it is what used to be shoelace sorry, but the clasp is actually a dial from 19th century. it seems that most of the pieces are made of 19th century linen or silk.

i guess there is some overlap...
i don't really know the term progressive rock...
though i understand the mood you have explained...

all the old linens etc and the 19th century dial are certainly elements of what people have begun calling steam punk...

i guess the styling would make all the difference...

thanks for the clarification...
