of course it matters. what i've seen so far has been disappointing to say the least. completely reppetitive. designers should know how to grow as artists and expand their minds and experiment with different sources of inspiration. 80's glam trash can only go so far.

i hate the one arm "gloves" and the unnecessary longer part of some dresses (isabeli, natasha poly, magdalena...), some of them would be nice without that "tail" or whatever it's called (sorry for my english)... other dresses would be nicer too without some little details, like that black matelassé dress on erin wasson, or the shiny blue one she wore before that... most of them would only work on kate moss though, or lou doillon, lara stone... people who have the nonchalance that is needed to wear balmain, and who would choose the right shoes and jackets to wear with it... anyway... despite all its problems, i admit i'd definitely wear that jacket on natasha poly, or the one on raquel (which looks exactly like the s/s 2009 ones by the way), and even that mini black dress on freja (i've already said this before, i have an uncontrollable attraction to anything that is short, black and have leather or transparence, so that kind of explains why that dress appeals to me)... and i'll say it again - i hate the gloves and the tails. this is the kind of brand that i would wear (if its items weren't utterly overpriced), but that wouldn't mean i'm a fan of the designer.

Balmain was good when it was less known and was doing those futuristic dark hippie style clothes 2 years back but within the last 2 collections , its just become so over rated with this 80s glam trash look and every other designer on the planet jumping on this 80s glam trash bandwagon in an effort to generate sales (which I personally think will fail because this shiat is out in spades at every high street store ) so he needs to move on , this is quite revolting for a paris collection , and those sequinned minis and dresses are trashy on so many levels

I think it takes a certain kind of woman (and styling) already to pull off Balmain under Decarnin and not look tacky. I did enjoy the past few seasons -- the sequins were great, the shapes were lovely, but looking at this collection, it doesn't feel like he's elaborating, or going forward. I feel like some of these minidresses could very well be on sale at Bebe, especially with ruffles, the polka dots(?) or rhinestones look cheap, and the slit pants just don't work. Either the girls are hardly clothed or they're drowning in fabric. I enjoyed the effortless look on Raquel -- the white tee in the studded skirt, but that could have been done by any fashion blogger idolizing Erin Wasson. I've enjoyed the past collections, though, so I'm not about to give up hope on Christophe just yet.

IMO, balmain is always the best show in paris!

as Suzy said, this was not about Parisian glamour but a global hard-partying look....Not a taste of Paris..If ladies want some DIsco feel like Gucci before,Balmain is your best choice(preparing few cars to pay them...)I have been tired about Balmain's long dress, being short in the front & crazy long bahind...it is just an icon, the designer has used for few seasons..
