STUNNING!
Not head over heels for the ballerina dresses but the rest is gorgeus

Oh wow!
The two looks on Anja literally took my breath away, so beautiful!

I'm a bit dissappointed. Maybe i expected too much.. Or maybe this just isn't such an ingenious collection as two previous collections have been. Ooh I'M SO SAD!! Well, nothing good lasts forever..

But of course I love it. I just wanted to love it a little more.

I get what you say, arorua! It's the same with me. I love it. But not as much as I love the previous collections. But still the clothes are amazing!

I do like a lot of it, except those frou frou dresses with the defined sort of 'bra cup' look which as leyla said looks like old Dolce. Some of the other dresses are lovely, esp. the pink one with the sort of crystal web/netting intertwining with the dress. I'm sure this will get a lot of wear by celebs and the fashion elite but it's not a mind boggling collection for me

please, let us not get too carried away. i'm just wondering about the dresses in particular... what if this thread was named Versace -
would people still be fawning all over it?

Now I've seen the whole collection.....it has highs and lows, and the lows are very low. Previous collections had some tacky pieces, but they were tempered by subtler, more neutral pieces. This is over the top and has lost the cool rock chic appeal. Now it looks very young hollywood in a bad way. I can see people like Britney and Paris Hilton drunkenly rushing in their unlicensed SUVs to steal these mini dresses and then wear them with no underwear.

For the most part, I love it. The shoes and the belts are to die for.

The more I see.. the more my jaw drops. That leather jacket/blazer in 64... I am drooooooling. This is really so gorgeous. Wonderful aesthetic. Oddly enough I don't find all the crystal to be overpowering or gawky at all.. it works wonderfully.

I never post in these threads but I have to say, if I was some rich socialite/cross dresser I'd wear every piece.

sethii, I totally agree with you. This collection lacks that certain edgy-Parisian-chicness that I always associate with Balmain...
Love the jackets, like the shoes, but the rest leaves a bit to be desired.

some of the pieces are going in a new direction...i love the black lace top/banded like skirt on anna s., the black corset skirt on lara, and some of the jackets with the sergeant pepper look, but with those jeans and flat gladiator sandals, it feels like what every girl has been wearing already (the erin wasson/alexander wang influence)...the opening three dresses are very nice, new takes on previous seasons...

the ballerina dresses and the asymmetrical gowns don't work at all...they feel totally trashy and out of place...
