and it’s about time me favorite menswear designer BERNHARD WILLHELM does something relevant with social messages. a sarcastic portray of superhero figures that reflects the american government's current machoisum for his S/S 2008 collection. overall a rather strange ensemble but really quite wearable individual pieces, definitely spotted a few items to snatch come spring, can't wait !
model by the ever so popular FRANCOIS SAGAT &
photographed by LUKAS WASSMANN (Zurich)
Enjoy !

no its definitely bernhard. francois just modelled for him. he's actually got quite fanbase with fashion people.....designer olivier bobin(aka fade)and he often collaborate...he models and he also has done some graphics for his t'shirts as well.
but i did not like this collection when i saw it in diane's blog(from the presentation) and i still don't like it. it just looks like silly porno costumes....like anyone's going to go out in an assless wrestler's singlet. it just feels even more thoughtless than before. the only one redeeming quality are the trainers. aesthetically it's hysterical but there's no substance at all. and yes,i am criticising bw for once...thought either or,i prefer his women's anyway.
I like Francois, I like him those clothes, that's about all. The problem when you do a collection so literally based on gay/sex/club clothes you end up making gay/sex/club clothes. There must be more to this, what will the normal people wear?
You know, Francois studied at the Chambre Syndicale and worked in fashion before going into porn.

A lot of people have enrolled for such careers, and yes, I have gotten to know quite a couple of sleazy people in Paris, all of which I will be glad not to meet up again.
I don't think that makes the motivation any better to do a collection like this, however - it's Bernhard who did these bodysuits and the art direction, and there is certainly nothing in here that should be sold outside a fetish clothing store. the track jackets and sweatshirt are certainly not the news here, which is maybe why he needed a more fancy way to display it.
i have absolutely nothing against francois...in fact,i really loved his imagery when he collaborated with olivier so my feelings really have nothing to do with him at all or the fact that he's in porn. but this is just much too comical even for bernhard. i thought i had seen it all....american footballers, military training clothes and such. and at least before, there was always redeeming qualities to spot but i just can't imagine how anybody can relate to any of this unless you are in porn and it's part of some cheeky(no pun there!)costume role.
