I think the last two seasons were better but there are still some very chic and beautiful pieces

Beautiful! I love all the draping and the quirky pieces with the patels! I think the longer dresses has some fitting issues but it might be the way the models walk...

Gorgeous jewelry... the stained-glass cuff, esp...

I find the styling of this collection rather stuffy-
a bit rigid even...
Past BV collections have emitted an elegance ease...
They seems so severe, unfortunately...
Still a lot of lovely separates and bags, of course..

Love the 2nd dress in num.21...beautiful, elaborate, yet quiet. Amazing.

I'm looking forward to seeing this in person ... often pictures don't do Bottega justice because there's so much hand-worked detail that you need close-ups to appreciate. There doesn't seem to be as much of this detail as there was for spring, but I guess I won't know for sure till I see it :p

He always does things which are suprising - sometimes good, sometimes bad (fall 2007). This leers toward the good! There are some items which don't really flatter (the inserts on Jessica Stam's dress), but there's some fantastic items (the day dresses & the long dresses, the shoes, and some of the bags). I love the colours; Germanic designers always choose such lovely colours. They seem to have simplar colour preferences to Canadians - colour taken from nature. The shapes are a bit of a suprise, and the texture in the first photo were completely unexpected! Maier doesn't usually do 3-d texture, so it's nice to see him depart. It works quite well too. The hair is very YSL fall 2004. Love the sunglasses, and I can't wait to see more of the collection!

And to the people who say it's boring; Bottega Veneta isn't boring, it's subtle. It doesn't, and isn't meant to, compare to the high energy of something more showy like Versace. Bottega isn't meant to be high energy - it's meant to be wearable and subtle.

Quite

I'm interested to know what you didn't like about last fall's collection. I found it more cohesive, really there were no wrong notes struck as far as I was concerned ... more moments of real beauty, and more I wanted to wear.

Love thisl! For those who think Bottega is "boring", Bottega (and Jil Sander for this matter) is the Calvin Klein of Milan. They work with the very basics. However, you cannot deny that the shapes and cuts are rather beautiful.

I love it. The draping, fabric, fit, coats. It's done so well.
