Wow this was absolutely gorgeous! I loved almost everything....especially the coats on Kasia and Sigrid. I also loved the tulle overlay dresses

I see he is trying something new with this collection (and Pre-Fall for that matter) but to be honest, its not really working. Sure the lace dresses and the middle section of dresses (interesting construction with folds, tucks and pleats) caught my eye, but the rest of it seems very confused (?).

The mod look towards the beginning for the customer base he has built so far? It doesn't make sense! And those awful tafetta (?) dresses at the end that look like they are either falling off the models or poorly constructed? Overall, a very confusing and strange proposition from Maier. I'm curious to hear why he chose this direction.

I really like this. Glamorous and Lady Like, what a lovely change! It's interesting to see a Sexy Collection from Bottega.

it's not like something Massimilano would do, not as bold and deep as his collections before.

Spot on Helmut. This is looking as if it lacks Thomas's usual beauty and finesse. The silhouettes are just too literal, like a costume museum exhibition of Jackie O's wardrobe.

SS11 was delightful and I thought it was to Maier's credit that, with Costa, he'd resisted the Philo/Simons direction of bringing lurid colour to minimalism and the house was looking like a bastion for a pure yet interesting form of natural simple modern elegance. With this collection Bottega departed that particular stage for the colorfield and left Francisco as seemingly a gloriously isolated voice for what we might call 'proper' minimalism.

The pieces near the end that looked like they had fissures from an earthquake looked interesting but by then I'd already decided to be massively disappointed. And by the end it really was curtains. Literally.

The only caveats are that you do sometimes have to appreciate the details, the fabric technology, to get Thomas's work. And that in his charm and intelligence he could probably sell a binbag dress as intellectually rigorous luxury. So like you Helmut, I'm wondering what he's got to say for himself to explain quite what he's done here.
