Appalling effort from Bailey this season. Is he even trying anymore? Seriously, what has he offered for Spring Summer 2013? Some variations of the trench (some of those look suspiciously like things he has done in the past), a bunch of tacky dresses, some hot pants (?), and thats essentially it.
Burberry needs a new designer and / or a shake-up in the company. The collections and the presentations are so repetitive and predictable; it feels like he has been staging the same presentation for the last four years. All in all, a redundant collection with lack of direction and no point of view.
Still hate the collection. It's just so tacky! Even, his dresses I usually love are wasted by the material used
The only thing I like, is that red lipstick the models are wearing. Now, that's something I want.
I thought that the colours in this collection were really beautiful but I do agree that the silhouettes were slightly odd (vearing into unflattering territory). Don't really understand Burberry doing pink swimwear, but I'm interested to see all of these pieces in editorial. In terms of on the street, not so much.

That was my first thought too, but given the aesthetic direction of the latest ads, I doubt it.
Oh, this is stellar! I love how there's an underlying sexiness with those very classic and feminine dresses/pieces. Also, the collection stirs some excitement with those cool metallic pieces.
The only issues I have with the collection have to do with how cohesive this collection is. Even though I'm liking what's presented, there's something off. It could be separated into two different complete collections. Personally, I wish Christopher would've played a bit more with the metallics instead of the satin and made it a bit more youthful. They're all great looks, but there's something off while looking at this as a whole. Also, I'm just not digging that strong dark red lip with those metallic pieces. It's a bit too much, imo.
'Mon amour, je sais que tu m'aimes aussi, tu as besoin de moi, tu as besoin de moi dans ta vie,
tu ne peux vivre sans moi et je mourrerai sans toi. Je tuerai pour toi'
I don't know if it's just me but the romantic, soft and delicate essence to the collection makes me want to think it's in reference to Christopher's up and coming nuptials, I think it's his current state of mind and I think this was also reflected in the fantastic soundtrack to the collection.
I saw several references within the collection, the exaggerated silhouettes reminded me of the work of Cristobal with some of the proportions and silhouettes, but I think after re-watching the show and looking through the looks there are minor elements of the 1960's.
I think there were only one or two looks that I disliked, I think the peacock coat would of been better suited in white peacock feathers and ivory details as opposed to the way it was executed, I did love the ivory trenches and the coats that had the colors bled into one another.

After the menswear collection in June, I was stoked for womenswear- this is definitely not what I was expecting.
While there are a few 'cute' individual pieces among this garbage heap, the styling is atrocious, makeup abhorrent, and fabrics abundant. All unite together to create a truly unflattering and clumsy mess. Nonetheless, the coats like always were gorgeous.... though the true horror was unveiled by the way of a frumpy looking dress paired with a mini transparent rubber jacket. This collection was all over the map.
I laugh at the sight of people praising this- Christopher has done beautiful collections....and you're lauding this tragedy?
This is a lot better than the crap he'd been putting out lately (last collection I liked was spring 2011) there were some stinkers in here, I'll say that but it was still pretty beautiful. At least it isn't the same assymetrical, white washed pieced together crap we've been seeing everywhere else this season.

I thought it a really nice collection. What really sold it for me was the bold colours and how he played with the fabrics, the metallics worked so much better on womenswear than on menswear. Some of the silhouettes were a bit unflattering and weird, I definitely see the Balenciaga influence from the Fall 2011 collection, but it didn't worked well here. But overrall it was really good, and finally some spring/summer on a spring/summer collection from Burberry.
