i really like the shawl/scarf/sarong hybrid it's a very unique look... and great that it's multi-functional
i think they are strong pieces. the design is minimal .. it's a colourful border on a plain solid-tone fabric ---as promotional material, however, i think it would help the piece better if it was styled better on the model. for example wearing an outfit that's not such a strong contrast to the shawl ... the well-fitted white outfit she has on doesn't match very well with the fluid characteristics of the shawl, imo.. maybe something closer to the same fluidity and also in a similar tone but duller (so the shawl will have a stronger presence to the customer's eyes)

one question, did you design the prints too?

I'm sorry but I don't have critique.
I'm in love with the first and the third dress.
I would like to see more clothes you made

Hello All,

Thank you so much for giving me your input on the line. I really appreciate hearing from people other than friends or family especially fashionable folks. Sorry for the amateur photos but the next step is to hire professional models and photographer (that's me in the pics) for promotional purposes...Maybe you guys could recommend someone? I live in the West Village, NYC.

No, I did not design the prints. That fabric is from France and it is one of a kind. I only have that one piece with the print going down the arm. The rest of the poncho's in that sky blue color scheme have a trim around the border. The dark blue silk poncho is handpainted and I have a limited quantity of that fabric as well. Also, you are right about the white against the shawl, I could have toned it down but since the lighting and setup is not professional, I wanted you guys to see the print, so the white was the best way to illustrate the poncho's.

Thanks again to the rest of you guys for the feedback....keep it coming!

nice clothes, i love the flowy feel that they have which epitomises resort. The only querry is perharps the last look, the scarf top is very nice but the white vest cheapens it abit
I wonder how it would look worn with very flared white linen pants

Hey Urban,
White linen wide leg pants would look fantastic, what kind of top would you suggest to be worn under the poncho?

ceola,
i would also like to see more. i can see these pieces in stores like calypso. it is very beach/holiday oriented?! would love to see them styled in that sort of way. flip flops, bare legs, glossy beach hair etc
also, like urban, i would show the see through poncho with a different underlayer. possibly a stretch bustier top ? (without straps basically)

Hi Leyla,

Wow, Calpyso is my inspiration you hit the nail on the head! I adore her resort wear line. I never thought about a strapless bustier top under it but I love the idea and I will definitely try it out.

Do you think the pieces flow well together?(i.e. congruence)
