Chanel HC S/S 08 Paris

like most Chanel shows, its very hit and miss (Karl just can't edit). The miss stuff is ugly as usual, but the beautiful stuff is amazing. Some of those dresses are just fantastic. Definitely an improvement on the last two couture shows.

Hmm . . . I'm really thrown off by the lack of heel. It does, however, make the collection seem a lot more down to earth (literally). It also has kind of a pixie vibe of sorts.

I like some of the collection and I agree with masquerade, it is very "hit and miss." I do love the cut and tiering and the embellishments. I like the innocence the flats portray although I'm not a big fan of them for these pieces.
As for the giant Chanel jacket prop, it is tacky but delightfully so.
I HATE the bride's piece. It is very Renaissance-y. And the color is much too bleak.

i've been so nervous for this collection. i am a big Chanel fan but the last few shows (f/w RTW 07-08 till london) has been very disappointing. but I'm happy to say that karl has made a come-back in my eyes. this collection is amazing. the clothes are classic Chanel with just enough HC elements, and drama, but yet it still wearable for any regular woman to wear.

The set is okay, i don't understand why they had to make it so huge. It's like the set is screaming "Chanel WILL take over the world!"

on a negative note though, some of the outfits desperately needed some heels. and there is a bit too much poof, here are there (like on the hips of the dress suvi is wearing, and the sleeves of both snejana's outfits.) and devon looks like a 12 year old queen in that dress. karl should had made it a little more slimming for her.

but over all i love it!

NYC ART STYLE, I agree with everything you say!! Heels, at least some- would help several of the outfits, but overall I love it!! And, of course, as we all know, Chanel is taking over the world- so we must get used to it...!
