Karl watched the Tudors a little bit too much. I'm not a fan of Lagerfeld so i'm certainly not objective. A lot of things sucks, seriously, what are these hairy shoes? But some pieces looks great, now i'm waiting to see them on the red carpet and editorials, it always looks better.

The men's coats are to die for.

you took the words out of my mouth- it's not even like the 90's, it actually looks like archive pictures...

Tudor? The references are Elizabethan and Mary Queen of Scots aren't they?

I really don't get the comment about Scottish people being insulted by this, I mean, really? That's like saying American's will be inlsuted by someone doing an American Sportswear inspired collection. It's their history, it's not an insult.

I'm in love with it as a show, and in love with the actual garments towards the end of the show.

Oh, goodness, I'm absolutely in love with this collection

The styling is a little problematic at points but some of the individual pieces are absolutely divine. This is right up my alley. The scarves are just lovely as well as the white pieces towards the end. The Tudor/Elizabethan references are quite nifty, too.

It's funny all I can see is 17/18th century references (collars, sleeves, etc) and the obvious scottish ones ( the kilt, the plaid) . and I can't help to feel it's all so costume-y
I usually only like pre fall collections at Chanel, but I think it's going need a little time to rub off on me..

I'm in love with this! I don't even mind how costume-y it is, it's exquisite. I always feel like Karl's non R/W lines are more impressive, to me at least. With the big bows on the collars, it does feel very much ripped out of 80's vogue archives, which is something I can't unsee now, but doesn't sway my opinion of it much.

I'm shocked with how much I adore this collection. Oh, it's wonderful. That's all I can say for now as I just want to stare at the pictures more and think about what I love about it.

Sporran handbags?
Bagpipe sleeves?
This is just typical Lagerfeld trying to imagine what Edinburgh is like without knowing anything about it past 'The Queen at Balmoral' and 'Mary Queen of Scots'.
It's incredibly gimmicky and obvious, but there are some great clothes.
We've got clever tartan jackets cut like a twin-set lady's cardigan so they hang in the most casual way; we've got pockets from Harris tweed coats for shotgun cartridges.. I'm in love with that black spherical bomber jacket worn over the red feathers.
There's a very pretty sort of empire-line that he created with pleats coming from the raised waist and a side closure in buckles. There's a Lacroix feeling about this collection, particularly in the stunning white looks at the end... I feel this part is the dedication to Queen Mary.
If we bin the crap like the knitted skirts and knitted tights, and most of the menswear, there's some great stuff.
Gimmicky eiderdown skirt?
...Looks like typical J.W. Anderson.

I don't know - I think it's a very appropriate collection, especially as a tribute or celebration!
I can definitely see it! I would not be surprised at all if Macbeth was an inspiration for the collection.

Are you referring to the TV show? I see zero connection...
