I feel sorry the brand ambassadors who will have to sift through this costumey collection for the rare pieces that are both flattering and attractive.

Everytime when there will be a new fashion show from Chanel I'm excited and when finally the models have shown the collection I'm disappointed the last few years. Often it is more costume than fashion forward with for example feminine designs. Still now the Chanel vibe surrounding everything is great and very exciting, but the actual results disappoint me. A lot of customers will buy it, but it is nothing new but everytime I'm hoping for something new. There are some good basics, but that's it.

I love this so much. I'm seeing all these people who are saying "it's too costumey" or "it's too literal" and "the over-layering is just bad styling" but then again, this is SCOTLAND. He did a phenomenal job of capturing Scotland. He did so much layering because he acquired Barrie Knits. And what do you do when you acquire something important? You show it off. It's exactly what he did here. And he did it amazingly. I'm absolutely in love with this show. And if I get to go to New York in August the first thing I'm doing is going to Chanel on East 57th to look at this collection. Heck, I'll probably throw everything into a big pile and take a nap on it. Why not?

I like it, but I am a sucker for tartans. :p

I feel like Karl does some of his best work in the liminal / in between collections.

But they are still overlong and they still contain looks at which I simply just sigh.

Lots here to like, though, for me anyhow.

Stella in tartans and knits is perfection.

I liked the India collection better, I associate tartan prints too much with pajamas, that this ends up looking like a xmas pajama party meets the tudors. Sorry Karl, maybe next time.

^ LOL, I'm going to freeze my backside off again and wait ouside, if that should ever happen, hehe.

I have to say that I really like to collection and the way, the Scotland/Mary Stuart theme was translated. Not every single piece or look, of course, some are just too much, but I see a lot of items that I would like to wear. Might be due to the three months, that I've been living in Scotland by now.

I havent loved a Chanel collection so much in AGES.

Absolutely beautiful, wearable, covetable and can be worn by ANYONE.

Standing ovation for Karl!

I love it!!! Despite a few disposable looks, I found the collection really lovely. It feels very opulent in a Chanel way, which is quite positive. Not attracted by the footwear, though.
